Ok dude, it was one game in 7 minutes of preseason. Give me a break. Ewing is not going to come out there and be Ron Artest. The only reason people care so much is because of his last name. I wanted him on this team over Jerome James and I am disappointed but to say the kid has "nothing to improve" is a joke. He needs a better handle, better court awareness, a better shot, and needs to learn how to pass the ball and not throw it into the stands all the time. He's a project but he is definitely worth keeping over Jerome.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Supposedly he has no jumpshot. He is like a less polished Wilson Chandler and probably needs 2 years in Europe or the D-league. That being said, he showed enough to get a spot and I would have cut JJ1.

He showed a lot of strengths. He made one bad pass. I wouldnt say that was al of the time. And made 1 nice steal and 1 block. The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.

Posted by TheGame:OK - I can accept that- needs to improve his jump shot - and so do a lot of players on the Knicks. Jr did hit a 3 when it counted near the end of the game to bring the Knicks to the point of almost winning the game. The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.

Well, from what I've gathered he has out of this world athleticism, but unrefined basketball skills. I think he could make it as an energy player, but we actually have better players in those roles too.

Why are people comparing him to Wilson Chandler who was shooting 3 pointers in college. The comparison should be Balkman not Chandler. Hey it would be ok by me to have kept Ewing but stop kidding yourself. Ewing is 25 years old and has been playing organized ball since the mid ot late 90s. Some guys can shoot while some can't.

Posted by Pharzeone: How many times must I remind you that Bruce Bowen couldn't really shoot either and he worked for a long while on his shot. Jr. is not completely lost shooting, he's just not proficient yet. Mardy looked awful early in his career and this year he's looked much smoother and more confident. Lee had no range on his shot when he got here and was given a nickname due to that fact and now he's much better. Players do improve. Not all, but many do. I believe Jr. had a good chance to get better. Often when it comes to a lack of confidence shooting, players simply don't shoot and then they get cast as bad shooters and never really progress due to a lack of in game opportunities. Jr. can get better by being given a shot somewhere to work on his shooting in games. Maybe in the D league or Europe he'll get that chance. |

His weakness is he doesn't have a 13mil contract.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Posted by Markji: How many first time Knicks have come to NY, made a great impression and then became nostalgic after a few games? Plenty! Obviously they saw something missing or it wasn't enough in Jr. How many people here also said that 'it's only pre season and it doesn't mean a thing'? So if it didn't mean a thing, then Jr. blocks, slams, points scored and rebounds were all just for show. Didn't mean a thing. I'll never trust this' team again.

Obviously they saw something missing or it wasn't enough in Jr.Obviously!!! It"s obvious? This is the whole point of the thread. The specifics aren't obvious. That is what I am trying to find out. What exactly does Walsh, or D'A see in Jr that makes him not good enough to make the 15 man team. Not a "he has to work on his game" type of response. Have they commented on specifics?
