I think they are angling for a medical exemption/retirement. I believe they can apply after a year after his last game time- which I think is next year, spring 09.

Even if granted, there isn't much savings in 09/10, but some.

Malik should be bought out to make room for a youngster/prospect.

I agree. It is time to cut our loses and the biggest mistake of the past regime. You still have to pay J.J. but he is not doing the team any good by being there. Let's develop some of these young guys, especially Ewing, Chandler and Gallinari.

The New York Knickerbockers waive guard Anthony Roberson. Roberson signed a 2 year deal with team option for the second year during the Knicks summer league. The Knick's roster now stands at 15.
