Not for me. DT tried that crazy line up against Boston in a game that Boston was more motovated to win. The Jersey game was just an off game for the team, especially D Lee and Zach. I understand those who have a "wait until 2010" attitude. The problem is that some of you try to bring the other "optimist" down a peg or two. It is not anyone's job to "lower someones expectations". It was very hard to come on this board toward the end of last season because there was way too much a negative vibe. This is supposed to be a social place for Knicks fans, we all have points of view but there are those who want to "beat you over the head" with theirs. I will be glad when they get rid of some of the terrible contracts/players but until that time, I want to see this team play hard and win as much as possible. I am exited for this year and no I don't expect anymore than about 33 to 37 wins, I'd want more but I can live with that because it represents progress. This team looked bad for the last few years because Isiah didn't have anything resembling set plays or offensive design, they looked and played like a streetball team with no real direction. I and many others don't live in New York and will never get to see a live Knicks game so we come here to read, share, laugh and be a part of an this community. I'd like that to be a fun and pleasurable experience and I'd bet there are others who would like it also. I don't understand those who come to this board if they don't want or expect this team to win because you would have very little positive to say/share. I'm just expressing thoughts and an opinion and not looking for a fight.

All of us are, really. There are a few with hidden agendas but for the most part everyone here is a diehard Knick fan who wants to see the team win eventually and be alive to witness a title. The approaches we take are different but the outlook is the same. We all share a common bond. It's just that some people get offended by someone with a negative opinion. There hasn't been much to be positive about all these years and there still isn't. It is only natural that there will be a "negative vibe" on a losing team forum, especially the way the Knicks lost last year.
A lot of us are not going to sugarcoat like Isiah. It's a New York thing. We speak our mind and let our feelings be known. At least I do. I do get where you're coming from an what you mean but forums were created for a variety of opinions, feelings, and thoughts. If that is a complaint, then maybe reading the Knicks.com write-ups would suit some people best? Because no matter what happens with the Knicks, Knicks.com of course plays it down considerably. But back to your point, this is NY and New York Knick fans will always have their opinions. Positive or negative, they will let them be known. I know I do.
Am I bitter? Yes, probably. I put my heart and soul into a team that spits in my face constantly. Now I know we all went through this so I'm not being selfish or anything but I feel betrayed by my team. This mostly stems from Isiah Thomas and James Dolan. And as long as Dolan is there, I'm always skeptical. Even without Dolan it's like that fear of something bad happening because you know it always does. I still love the team but I do not love most of the players on it. Like I said, they spit in my face last year with their pathetic play and I hold no respect for many of them. Luckily though, there are still a few things worth watching on the Knicks for the next few years, like Danillo Gallinari (without back issues) and Wilson Chandler. It will be interesting to see how much they develop. Both are young kids. It's a wait and see approach. But as for the current crop of players, I don't really have any root left for them besides rooting for them to get traded and in that case you can say I'm rooting for them to play well so they can take their garbage contracts and attitudes elsewhere. But realistically speaking, 30-35 wins is where we will end up and I believe that most of us have the same thinking. We're definitely not pulling a Celtics, that's for sure.
So to conclude a long and probably rambling post, the point is we all have a right to express our opinions and nobody "hammers in" anything on anyone else. We all present different opinions, they clash, we argue and that's that. It's tough when fans fight amongst themselves. Losing does that to people but we'll get through it. Just remember that our opinions, especially mine, are own opinions and not meant to insult anyone or force someone to follow that opinion. I am not an angry, vile, or sadistic person as some here may view me as. I'm quite a happy go-lucky person to be honest with you. I'm just a disgruntled Knick fan hurt by years of mental pain. I'm also a realist and tell things the way I see it and the way I believe reality is. It's not going to win me many votes but that's me and I can't change me. I appreciate your time to make that post and thank you.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
