The chance is there. He's not Lampe that's for sure. Is he Dirk? Not so sure but I recall Dirk wasn't all that the first time we saw him either so who knows.
There's one huge wrench in the works here though: THAT BACK ISSUE. Until that's resolved there's no telling what the future holds for Gallo. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Posted by Cosmic: I agree with the back issue he just might go from Dirk to Q-Rich. You never know with back injuries. |

If healthy, yes a big if, I think he's Peja Stoy.....plus some better athleticism (although not a sky walker), plus a great handle/passing ability.

Just look at his handle as he comes up the court. I don't know if I ever saw a dude this tall skip down the court like Gallo does here. He looks like a point guard. He totally set his man up with the Shamgod. Those jumpshots in the Elite clip are gonna be tough to defend....The x-factor is the handle and the fact he's 6'10"......kid makes me salivate......with Wilson, Gallo, Lee and Zach the Knicks are really deep at the 3-4. Elite, I'm witchoo, here they are, the...
Top Ten Reasons Why Danilo Will Be Really Good 10. If he hits his first jumper in The Garden (as his numbersake Latrell Sprewell did), the crowd will go nuts 9. Mark Berman is peeing in his pants to call him The Italian Stallion ad nauseum 8. He can put the ball on the floor just enough to create space, at 6'10 he doesn't need much. See Figure A. Jack Sikma, who was mechanical but deadly with his step back J. 7. "fuggedaboudit!" 6. Donnie Walsh is no fool 5. Wilson Chandler will make a cool running buddy 4. David Letterman will love him 3. Chris Duhon keeps his head up on the dribble 2. Did I mention he's 6'10? 1. Chicks dig the three ball once a knick always a knick

Posted by misterearl: LOL at # 7....... nice. I'd like to see a study as to how players do in their career with their team based on hitting their first shot at home, or at least doing well in their first game... as opposed to missing their first shot or struggling their first game.... It's got to do loads for your confidence to come out strong |

Posted by Elite: It's Gallo's athleticism that most worry's me - I think he has all the offensive skill, the instincts and the mind-set to be a really good player I'm just worried about his speed really and whether or not that damn back will be a long time issue. Here's hoping like hell he has a long and illustrious career with the Knicks. |

Posted by misterearl: I'd put Mike D and his offense at the top of your list -- 2nd would be the fact that the team is so bad that he will have every opportunity to shine. |

Gallo = Young Tom Chambers
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Posted by EnySpree: yea, if his back is not an issue in the future. This kid may be special. As you said, his handle is slick, and not just good for a big man handle, I mean good period. That with the ability to shoot off the dribble will make him special. Look at the move he did in the other clip where he dribbles, stops, puts the ball back between the legs and shoots the jumper and hits it. for a 6'10 guy, that is a tough as hell shot, for anyone that is a tough shot. he did it with ease... Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser...............

One thing I just noticed is the guy Galinari broke with the dribble caught up to him and stuffed him clean while Traylor mauled him. Still a nice move though.
