The New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that the team has exercised the fourth-year option on the contract for guard Mardy Collins and the third-year option on the contract for forward Wilson Chandler.

As part of the collective bargaining agreement, rookie contracts are two years in length, with team options for the player’s third and fourth seasons.

I guess that means Jr. is out also, because Houston and Grunny are also out.

Not really. That Jr. wasn't cut means they're trying to work something out with James or D'Antoni is down to Roberson or Jr. and can't decide what he needs more at the end of his bench keeping Curry company.

I was almost certain that they already signed Roberson.

It can't be a buyout of another player either. Jr. isn't worth it. Not even for Jerome James.

I'm trying to give this organization a chance, I actually purchased a package this year. More than wins, I would be most satisfied with this purchase if the front office just bought out James. Unless Mikey D, insists he can contribute.

Im not sure what there thinking is with snacks, I mean if curry is a potentially (dont think he will ever being shape) bench warmer for the forseeable future, what in gods name is james purpose.

Something is in the works. As we can deduce quite easily, Jr. would have been cut with Houston and Grunfield. Roberson makes 800k and Junior is on a non guaranteed offer I think, that being the case, either can realistically be cut as I don't think money is the main point (The Balkman savings withholding).

So, if D'Antoni got enough of Rose as those watching the games did, perhaps a trade is in the works. He has value to a good team, we are rebuilding and he isn't as important here (Though his locker room presence might be). Perhaps Rose and Roberson for a 2nd or something like that. Big Snacks could be traded next year and he might be something to hold on to for a future trade during that 2010 date. We all doubt Curry is going anywhere, not as he is that is for sure. I mean it looks like Zach is already trade-able but worth holding on to, at least he has heart. Can't wait.

If D'Antoni wants to keep both Roberson and Jr... things might get interesting. I just don't see them cutting Jr. Bad Karma and they/we know it.

why bother trading Rose? And what team is going to trade for him?

Now- if he is bought out, he can latch on at the vets minimum with any number of teams- San Antonio, I am sure, would take him back.

More realistic is trying to put a package together of some combo or Crawford & Curry.

Curry should net us at least an ending or shorter deal and Crawford should bring us back a first rounder and the same.

Malik Rose is an expiring contract worth 8 million I believe. That is worth something even if his play is not.

They are going to send Ewing to Europe or D-league most definitely. There is no way he sits on our bench all year. He is not ready.
