A league executive said that the Chicago Bulls have interest in New York Knicks forward Zach Randolph to solve their low-post scoring problems, but don’t have a package that would interest New York.

Now before you say "not another deal with the Bulls", realize that Walsh & Isiah are two different animals.

How's this?

New York Knicks

Incoming Players
Larry Hughes
Salary: $12,827,676 Years Remaining: 2

Tyrus Thomas
Salary: $3,749,880 Years Remaining: 1

Outgoing Players: Zach RandolphChicago Bulls

Incoming Players
Zach Randolph
Salary: $14,666,667 Years Remaining: 3

Outgoing Players: Larry Hughes, Tyrus Thomas

Then we cut/buy out James & Rose to accomodate the extra player.

Nothing will happen until the trade deadline.

let me re-phrase that...nothing BIG will happen until then, we might see a small trade but nothing big

This is a good deal for a couple of reasons.

1. Walsh is going to regret not giving David Lee a contract extension ahead of time and won't be able to sign him after the
season. Thomas is becoming the player he should be slowly, but he is getting there and protects the rim. He would be a nice piece to add with chandler up front.
2. You're losing the salary for the extra year, however why the bulls would do this I don't really know. But then you can package Lee/Crawford or Lee/Curry for something good or a block.

Still unsure why we drafted a guy that plays the same position as two of our best young kids. Lopez is going to be a defensive force in NJ.

As much as I would like to move Zach for the long term betterment of the team, I don't like Hughes... we already got crawford.

Larry Hughes dislocated his right shoulder in last nights game. There goes that trade.

I would rather the Knicks traded Curry back to the Bulls - but for who?? And we should get a couple of first round draft picks thrown in.

Even with Hughes, its better than the Clipper givaway!

Walsh is being cool and patient.

I like they might be coming to us.

Ty Thomas might be a better fit under MikeD.

I don't care if we win a game this year, this is about posture, draft, and increasing value. So far ZDumb has done well for us! +

Well we know something is gonna happen since the evidence is coming in that we would be so much better with an agile and quick shot blocking big and a catch and shoot SG. It's just more likely to happen at the trade deadline when teams will be more serious about making changes. Some teams will be buying and others selling, so to speak. This season is about showcasing and evaluating for us. Walsh is gonna want time to do both.

You're not gonna get Lebron James for Zach. Just getting a shorter contract and 2 players who have some degree of basketball competence (not another Frederick Weiss, for example) is a success.

That makes sense- I think Thomas can be a good reclamation project.

Hopefully Randolph's value keeps on rising.

Agreed; I think this proposed trade is just a pipe dream.

I not sure about that. From what I read in the Chicago media are they are still undecided about what to offer the kid let alone keeping him. Disappointing is the key word used with him very often. Also, throw in the words headcase. Bulls fans would happily do a Lee for Tyrus trade right away.

The more gossip about teams being interested in Randolph the better. I like the fact it stated that "they didn't know what package would interest the Knicks". Thats a big difference in thinking compared to the we will only take Randolph of your hands if you give us draft picks.

just say no to Larry Hughes

The reason to get Larry Hughes is his expiring contract (next year) not for any other reason.

Just to note, I doubt Larry Hughes is going anywhere anytime soon.

from the Chicago Tribune..
Bulls guard Larry Hughes will miss six-to-eight weeks of action after dislocating his shoulder in Wednesday night's preseason win over the Timberwolves.
He dislocated his right shoulder late in the third quarter. Team sources claim that surgery can be avoided, but more tests will be conducted on Thursday and Friday.
"It's definitely tough because I was getting my touch back," Hughes said. "I've had different injuries before, so I'll figure what I need to do with rehab to get 100 percent healthy. I'm confident I can do that."
"OMG - did we just go on a two-trade-wining-streak?" -SupremeCommander
