noticed lately sometimes when i try to view stuff on YouTube, the video starts to play & then freezes, & there's no sound... sometimes after i restart the problem goes away, but sometimes it's still there...

anyone else get this problem at all or know what could be the problem? i already ran Ad Aware scan for Spam & deleted all tracking cookies i ran across, & ran a full Virus check but found nothing.

Yes, I have the same problem, but not just in youtube, but in other streming videos sites recently. And the worst for me is that PC goes very slow while it happens.

I thought it was a Firefox problem from when I had too many tabs open. Used to just restart the browser to get it to work. I'll get the flash update

It's not Youtube -- it's Flash in Firefox. The issue seems to be too many instances of Flash open in too many tabs. I'd suggest the FlashBlock plugin. Then just play the Flash clips you want, but not the ads -- seems to fix the issue.

Firefox is a weird mix. It's a great browser, with more quality plugins, better security, but uses more resources than the others and seems to have an array of strange issues that happen under certain circumstances.

I disagree. It depends on how many tabs you have open. I have no doubt that the newest Flash player improved things, but it's a symptom, not the cause. If you're like me and typically keep 100+ tabs open, your Firefox memory will often sore over 1 GB... and the memory fragmentation is actually the cause of a lot of weird behavior in regards to Flash and other Firefox components. I recall reading similar from one of the Firefox developer's blogs. When using FlashBlock, I now rarely go over 500 MB at the worst.

I think I'm still using Flash 8 on Fedora. Lately, when I'm using Linux, I'm in through SSH, so I don't bother with the GUI or browser.

You already know what gives. They want to sell everyone something to fix the problem. They break it, we have to pay to fix it.

Heh. You know what's sad is that it's not even porn related this time. I'm just lazy and never close a tab a month or two.

The clients have always been free. Developing for Flash costs some $$, though.
