From Today's NYPost article:

"The Knicks reportedly have rookie Maciej Lampe, 18, locked up for four years (one more than previously believed) if they wish, The Post has learned. The Knicks negotiated in a team option on a fourth year at the bargain-basement price of $860,000. The complicated four-year deal is worth about $3.5 million. "

that's good news. within 4 years you can tell if a guy is a bust or not, although since lampe will only be 22 at that time, he still might have serious room to grow.

I like it. No Arenas scenario creeping up on the Knicks. Now Chaney just has to make sure he gets a lot of playing time.

true.

now, what are the knicks going to do / who are they going to sign to play SG if Houston is out for a bit? Lee Nailon? Ty Nesby? Postell?

Shandon Anderson? Frank Williams? Howard Eisley?

I think we should just forget about signing anyone and roll with who we got. Whoever is injured just means more time for the other guys.

To start the season:

PG: Ward/Frank Williams
SG: Shandon/Eisley (he played SG in Dallas)
SF: Van Horn/Lampe/Spoon
PF: Harrington/Sweetney
C: KT/Doleac/Knight

IR: Houston/Dyess/Vranes

That's 15 boys, the max allowable regardless. we've got no room to sign anyone unless we make some cuts.
