Do you guys realize that the Knicks are averaging just' under 13 more points a game, then last years average???

The D'Antoni system is working very well.

Even with the second stringers out there, they still won by 8. And New Jersey is no push over.

I'm citing the increases in assists a game, steals a game, rebounding a game, FG% and 3-PT% a game as the keys to the Knicks new success so far.

Last year: 43.9 FG%
In the last 5 games: 46.0%

Last year: 33.7 3-PT.%
In the last 5 games: 37.8%

Last year: 72% FT%
In the last 5 games: 76.0%

Last year: 42.5 RPG
In the last 5 games: 45 RPG

Last year: 18.7 APG
In the last 5 games: 23.4

Last year: 6.4 SPG
In the last 5 games: 9.2

Last year: 96.9 PPG
In the last 5 games: 109.6

The TO's are almost 5 more in the last five games, then last years average, but that is the trade off for increased offense.

And who says we have no defense?? The rebounds and steals are are up and that makes up for a lot of other defensive weaknesses this team has. I also don't recall anyone fouling out yet either.

This is a team and they are playing' like a team.

The 3-PT% has nearly gone up, up, up with each game.
.235
.375
.469
.333
.480

The steals have also almost increased game by game.
8
9
6
11
12

The system is working and they are growing in it and they can only get better. I think it's safe to say that they have bought into it. Who can argue with these numbers?? Nobody!!!

I'm happy as a ****ing clam!! How bout you's????!!!!!

There is not one thing that sticks out on this team or it's stats. It's a whole team effort. Those who fail, the others pick them up. And those who fail, will have key moments of success.

BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll never trust this' team again.

i'll be happy when i see those preseason stats translate into regular season W's... until then it's all a feeling out process for every team & gonna hold off on getting all antsy about preseason games 1 way or the other.

it's pre-season. judging whole team stats at this juncture is going to be grossly inaccurate.

of course the team looks good, last year it was harder to tell that curry and crawford were so awful because they didn't stand out quite as much - this year they look heinous compared to their teammates who appear to be buying in and learning and performing extremely well.

the team looks great, curry and crawford look awful. but stats at this point are meaningless.

3-2 is 3-2. It could happen to anyone in pre-season. But you can't argue with those numbers, plain and simple.

These guys have only played five pre-season games in this system and they've scored 104 or better a game. These guys are pumped and willing. Can you's see it?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Outside of the obvious shot-blocker in the lane, I think with D'Antoni's system, this team could use another athlete maybe at the 2 or 3 a la G. Green that can fill the lane opposite Chandler and finish.

Dude, you sound like you are part of a cult. Chill.

No one is going to go nuts over pre-season. The Knicks look good, but it's pre-season and honestly it means NOTHING. Once they start doing this when it matters, there will be credence lent to the stats you present.

You got it wrong again. Mr. Curry, Mr. Marbury, Mr. Crawford, Mr. Collins, Mr. Jeffries, Mr. James and Mr. Q are going to be alright and you'll end up being proud of them.

Cant front, I miss seeing the dreads flapping in the wind as he races up and down the court. But I'm thinking more of a skilled wing player that would really flourish and fit D'Antonis philosophy. Balk couldn't shoot and we know how much D'A cherishes shooters. I'm thinking of guys like J.R Smith, Gerald Green types players who were meant to play in the open floor. Eventhough a guy like Green has struggled to catch on in the NBA thus far, I think he could play really well in this system. Even a guy like a Kelena Azubuke (sp) would be a good fit. I'm just throwing up names of guys who could realistically pull a trade for.

JR Smith would have been a fit yes but we already had Jamal & until u figured out what to do w/him signing JR to a longterm contract wouldn't have made any sense... i think Duhon on a 2 year deal was the more prudent decision even tho he's not as talented.

woulda loved to see Gerald Greene brought in, on that type of move i wouldn't have had any problems w/dumping Balk away for nothing... that's a low risk, high potential reward type move.

IMO u can find guys like Azabuike playing in the D-Leagues at any juncture.

Duhon is doing great for us. Better than what we've had the last few years. And his contract was so that Walsh could have some assurance of a roster spot filled, that D'Antoni could use and a contract that could be negotiable. Duhon fits the bill perfectly for what we had to be able to pick him up.
