They four centers on the roster if you include PF/C Mihm. Any trade combination that the Cavs would consider?

There is no combo that is worth considering from Cleveland anyway. Mihm is a hack, Igalztics (whatever his name is) is a train wreck and I don't know who the rest of their centers are, and if that's the case, they definately won't make an impact if they come here b/c they are not well-known enough.

they are going to hold onto mihm as insurance. Big Z is the best center in the East when healthy (he held up decently last year). They think LeBron James is going to transform Diop into someone legit.

Caseloads is right. Ilgauskas is a stud center. Health is the only issue with this guy.

Mihm's a stiff.

While it seems for the longest time we have been without a legit center, I do applaud Laydog for not bringing in MORE crap trying to fill in a need with a 2nd tier stiff with a bloated contract. IJ am surprised we have not had one of the "DAVIS boys" ex-Indiana as our center. As long as its an ending deal and they can log in minutes, Im ok with it.

It would appear we are lotto bound this year, and there are some nice centers to be had in the draft. We can be patient. If it works out, we get a Okafar or big Pavel, get Milos out of Europe and we got a very young core to build on.

I'm with Neydal on this.

Nothing wrong with rebuilding-personally, I thought last year's attempt at the playoffs robbed us of a chance at a good/high draft pick. I know it's not cool to say, but we may be better off trying to trade for 2004 draft picks, and going for <40 wins on the season.

Golden State has the right idea: clear the roster, wait for next year. Either rebuild for real, or trade to get what we need to make the run.

That said, Ilgauskas wouldn't be bad at center, but feet are an issue. Doubt we could get him thought. They traded everything away to have a shot at LeBron last year, but they didn't part with their center. That tell you anything?

Trying to rebuild by trading your top players takes many years in the making, and is not always the easiest process for results.

Teams in the east during a four year period of trading their top players made little difference in overall results [won/lost column]

Note: Bold lettering = previous season record

Orlando Magaic----[41-41] [42-40]
top players, 4 year period: Mercer, Armstrong, Outlaw, and Wallace

Atlanta Hawks ----[28-54] [35-47]
top players, 4 year period: Rider, Jackson, Henderson, and Mutombo

Washington Wizards----[29-53] [37-45]
top players, 4 year period: Howard, Richmond, Strickland, and Hamilton

Cleveland Cavs----[32-50] [17-65]
top players, 4year period: Kemp, Murray, Sura, and Dre Miller

And if you add the bulls and the Heat, rebuilding is not as easy in the east as some of the paper Gurus tout it to be. Lets not forget, rebuilding is more than trading and adding players.

Good Post Bobby, these postas aren't gurus. But instead they are whiner front runner sports fans.

As much as I like to argue with you, Playa, I now realize that it is YOU that is the front runner sports fan and doesn't have a clue to the reality that is Earth. Kudos to you, b/c you are the first Martian inhabitant to be discovered on Earth. Look, out at the distance, here comes your marching band now!!!
