We could use another big man pretty desperately. Or we need Curry to get much better much faster and get Jefferies back.

We need another big guard/SF who can shoot. This is why I was for Houston making the team but he is done. I'm sure Q rich will have a good game now and then but since he's been on the Knicks he's been brutal and continues to be brutal. I don't know how he started last year or why he is starting this year but there can be a ton of improvement there. After watching more and more--I would like them to phase Q out and get Chandler more minutes. Even though WC can be spotty with his % he does a lot of things much better.

Knicks need to get healthy. Jared and Gallo will delete Q and possibly Curry.

We definitely need a big who can defend the paint and run the floor. Moving Curry to washington for Etan Thomas and a pick or a young player is not a bad option at this point.

Etan Thomas is 6'9'' I don't consider him a center. The Knicks need shot blocking or shot altering presence in the middle. The way Curry is playing I don't think this guy touched a basketball in the off season. He looks real bad out there he has no elevation on his shots and basically has had the ball thrown right back into his face on many shot attempts. He has to step it up. If he can get himself into playing shape I can see him as a player who can move without the ball and get a lot of easy opportunities. Curry when he wants to be is still athletic and can get up and down the court for a big man. The problem with him has always been how do you give a person desire.

A shotblocker. The Knicks have several guards that aren't versatile enough to do more than one thing, such as Q or Crawford not being good passers. But that isn't as glaring of a weakness as having a big that doesn't block shots and intimidate in the paint.

I think Jeffries could be great in this system and block some shots. In that case, he was kind of a major loss.

But how bout that Curry? Wanted to come out and D'Antoni waived him off. Talk about forcing someone to find the strength and he proved it to himself last night.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Wow, first you said you're proud of Curry and now Jeffries is a major loss to you. I see you've set the bar extremely low for this season.

we can't be counting on JJ2. Even though he might look good in this system, he is basically an overpaid role player.

We need Chris Paul and Marcus Camby

Depends on what we are talking about as needs- are we saying this year- which I think most consider lost to rebuilding- or long term?

Long term- 2010 and beyond- a dynamic reliable scorer in the back court who can also defend and get others involved.

And a superior 5 defender off the bench.

And a real 2 who can defend.

HA HA very funny! I think Franco12 has a good point in that there's the needs for the low bar set for this year or for the high bar long term need. A Chris Paul and Marcus Camby level PG and C would of course be most welcome. The thing is that we ain't gettin that this year. For now a healthy Jared will have to do.

A healthy Gallo helps a lot in terms of shooting at the 3, but PG is gonna have to wait for the draft. There's no other way of getting a stud Pure PG. We may just be able to find a big who can fill the athletic shot blocker role. There are a lot of young big man prospects from this draft that may end up available down the road. Teams grow impatient with them sometimes and we may be in a better position to wait for them to develop.

What the Knicks need is a good two. Someone who can drain threes, who can play d, and who has a respectable all around game. Briggs was talking about J R Smith a few months ago. Someone like that would make this team much better.
