Well we've seen some positives and some things they need to work on in these first 3 pre-season games. Good sign though - still no time tables but Gallo's running and shooting and it looks like he might be close to resuming contact drills and regular practice soon. Just trying to figure out how the kid fits in here when he returns. Perfect world, he gets all of Q's minutes playing the 3 splitting time with Chandler but that's not gonna happen. And I don't see him being big enough to play the 4 behind Lee, unless D'Antoni chooses to go small. But you don't sit him just because he's a rookie right? If he comes back 100% healthy there's no way they can sit him. He's too good a shooter & too talented. There's no way a 23 win team can sit the 6th pick in the draft...

I gonna be happy to get this kid back healthy soon but does anyone see how this is gonna work???

Roster wise we're screwed, cuz we haven't been able to thin the herd. We've got too many guys that should play. When you still have Q around it's just one guy too many at the 3 position. I'm not too worried about it right now, since Gallo isn't ready to go and i'd love to see them bring him along slowly. There's really no rush. Don't forget that he's just barely 20 yrs old. He's got plenty of time to grow into this league.

I think Gallinari will fit quite well in this offense. Now I don't have a whole lot to go on since I've only seen that one summer league game but in that game he shot the ball well, he passed the ball well, he hustled and he played defense, these are all things conducive to Mike's offense. I think he should be able to do these things when he does eventually see the court. I see him getting alot of time at the 2,3, and some 4 this year. One thing is for certain though, when he comes back he is automatically our best shooter (after watching that summer league game and he displayed that stroke, I think Breen even mentioned tonight that when he comes back he'll be the best shooter.)

It'll be interesting to see how he fits in, but I think he'll fit in just fine if he plays like he did in the summer league.

I agree with this. Gallo might be one of those guys you look at and say, 'that guy's just a basketball player' and just find time for him somewhere regardless of position. I could see that.

Frankly, I think he will have trouble. I was worry about how his body will sustain against teams like Philly and this was back before I knew about his back injury. It's just a difference what is allowed to go on in eastern conference games vs. the west. I have the same worries about Houston and continue to have them about Q Rich. My guess is that his future should be away from the post. I actually would like to see him at the pg spot but I am not sure how that fits in D'Antoni system.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Ill tell you this, if Gallo was shooting as many wide open looks as Q was getting, we would have won this game. A deadly shooter is what this teams needs

chandler is gonna be the backup c, pf, and sf ... and gallinari can play the c, pf, and sf(in 'antoni's offense of course) so he'll get playing time.
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

You can never have too many good players at a position. Hopefully Gallinari will turn out to be a good player and can play multiple positions like Chandler. That can only help us. Especially in Mike's system. Detroit did well with 4 and 5 versatile front court players and won because they all accepted their role. We will be fine if we can get the same from our front court. Plus the more good players you have, the more trade flexibility you have.
I just hope that people will like me

Gallo @ point guard? Stop it.

As far as Gallo fitting in? I think the dude will seemlessly fit in off the bench. His game is similiar to what we've been seeing with Zach, Lee and Chandler.

You know I made a thread talking about the a 5 man rotation @ forward and 4 man rotation @ guard......

It just proves to me you guys are not on my level as far as basketball. I'm the man and you guys are in the garbage can.

Lmao.

Gallo has a bad back. At his age, that's unfortunate.

I don't see how you can play basketball with a bad back.

Seems to me that the Knicks drafted damaged goods and wondering how he fitsseems silly until he actually comes back.
