In preseason, talking big isn't about the game, it is the game. And there are fans who love it when guys play that game large, whether it translates to the real season or not.

without his and-1 moves or shooting the rock every other time down the court, it's like he's not even out there...

jamal's the OTP...

Looks like Qrich is still the emotional leader of this team. That'll only take a team so far. If jamal wants to be "elite," like he says, he needs to bring leadership, not just try to fit in.

Those two guys are good at passing blame and making excuses. The fans and press buy it.

i think that applies to this entire organization from the players on up to the owner... the lack of accountability throughout this franchise has been 1 of the main reasons why they find themselves in this current mess to begin with.

everyone else looks like they're playing D'Antoni ball... except Jamal, who still wants to do his one-on-one shtick.

Jamal has been MIA. He didnt play terrible yesterday--I just don't remember him doing anything well. He does a lot of his stuff when he has the ball and can use the dribble. It seems as if he lost some wight again and he is getting pushed around out of position or is standing behind the three pt line. We have to give things time/

It was sickening to watch Crawford to direct Chandler to switch and pick up his man at halfcourt while he relaxes off Chandler's guy (Iggy or Green). Jamal is extremely lazy on defense. He considers defense swiping at a ball while his man blows by him. He avoids contact more than any other player I seen in recent memory. He has no perimeter defense skills.

I agree but the fans and press seem more likely to give both of those guys a free pass. It just boggles my mind. Jamal and Q have an excuse for everything. "I played for a lot of coaches; I can't find myself in the rotation" "My back hurts; I am overweight" "Marbury's fault!" The thing that really bothers me is that Walsh and D'Antoni bring in another guy who loves to pass blame as well. Duhon's rep in Chicago was the same.

I built up a level of trust for Jamal during the LB year. When all the other guys were whining and not playing, he was the one guy that did his best to listen to the coach and do what's right for the Knicks. Since then my trust level has slowly lowered. I'm seeing a guy that recognizes his faults, doesn't improve on them and then makes excuses for them. He thinks that by telling us that he knows what his issues are that we will give him a pass when he is unable to achieve them. Thinking that by mentioning it we will be pacified and think he is really trying. The reality is that we aren't idiots. the fact that he has shown no improvement in any of these areas he talks, and talks, and talks about is all the evidence we need.

David Lee may never be a great shooter. But my watching him in 3 preseason games you know he spent the entire offseason working on it. Whereas Jamal has played 3 highscoring, tons of shot games and has 1 REBOUND!!!!!!! His D has also been as bad as usual. Is he working on his weaknesses or just blogging to be cool

Mike Ball requires some strong fundmentals. Catch and shoot is one of them. Craws game is off the dribble. Its for mike to find a place for craw, and for craw to bone up on his fundamentals..

i haven;t lost hope for Jamal but at this point it seems like starting Chandler would be our best bet to improve our D, which means Q would have to be slotted to the 2... i think if u can trade Jamal for a pick & an expiring we should do it.

Dude, Jamal was the first guy to whine about not being a starter. You must have forgotten the sulking on the bench when Brown had Richardson starting at the two spot while he wanted Barnes to start at SF. He didn't say a word because he wasn't talking to the press anymore. Clyde and Breen talked about it during pre-season.

Jamal has somehow mastered the jedi mind trick

he made fans forget NY was a play-off team the season prior a they celebrated last meaningless to the Wizx game heroics with him on the court in 05...a win that cost NY the 6th worst record and the slot in which the 1st pick ping pong ball was (even tho IT claimed he still would've took Frye 1st)

he made people forget he was the 1st to gripe to the press about Larry's plans for the rotation.

he's made people forget he, not Steph, was the lead ball-handler and shot taker on the last 2 50 games loss seasons

he has made people every year he has been a Knick forget he is not a rookie or 2nd year player
