whats going on with the next move who are the knicks looking at now??

It should be just a back-up center who has legit size and shot-blocking and rebounding ability. Something we can get for Ward, Harrington, Weatherspoon, or Knight or a couple of these guys. Calvin Booth, Jerome James, and Erick Dampier are the most common names available and would solve this problem.

I think K.Cato could fit in that list also. JVG could use some bangin PF in Harrington or Weatherspoon to replace Taylor.I'll take Cato over Booth n James.

Agreed, Cato is a nice player as well. I don't know if he's really on the market right now however because many consider him a great back-up for Yao Ming. When Ming starts playing about 40 minutes a game is when it's time to trade Cato. But as of right now Cato is still getting 18-20 minutes a game and is playing very well. Plus i'd still rather have Dampier and we could get him seeing how Golden State is trade happy. They now have Cliff Robinson who can play some minutes at center and of course they have Foyle. I think we could send Harrington, Knight, and a second round pick or other filler for Dampier.

Kelvin Cato will average about $8 million/year for the next 3 years.....so unless they take on one or two of our bad contracts (Spoon, Eisley or Anderson) I'll have to say no to Kato.

James is out as well. Yes, I know, the Sonics are looking to free up cap space for next year, but they have yet to resign Drobnjak, which leaves them with C-Booth, Potapenko, and James at the 5. But they would most likely part with V, not James, don't you think?

And, seriously, James averaegd 5.3 ppg last season. Damn, can't Doleac do that? Okay, maybe he makes it up on the D-side, but with a lean backcourt, the knicks need all the scoring they can get, and 5 points just won't cut it.

What's next?? The season will start and the Knicks will make me wish I never was a Knicks fan... boring me to death, playing incompetent, not up to par ball.

NY can trade Knight and Harrington for Dampier. The salaries match for this year. Knight is a FA after this year. Harrington makes 3.7 next year. GS would save about 14M as Dampier is owed about 17M after this year.

Damps contract runs out the same time as Houston and Eisley so the cap effect would be minimal since we are over until then anyway. Next year with Dice gone, we'd actuallly be saving $ over this year!
