What happened? Watching the raptors game and the announcers were saying something about injury? Then they showed him on the bench in street clothes. . What did i miss?

i think he hurt his feelings.

he's fine. i just don't think the guy can play at an nba level anymore. him being in camp is more of a courtesy. if he makes the roster, it's 100% political and has nothing to do with actually helping the team on the court.

I disagree fully DJ. If the Knicks can't find a consistent shooter, D'Antoni is going to need to find someone who can shoot the ball in any situation, and Allan is better at that any any other player on the team. His run and gun style needs shooters and Allan can still shoot the lights out. Even if it's just for limited time.

So its a leg muscle, hopefully that'll heal soon. Hopefully it won't set him back much, and even if its like 10-15 mins a game he is still the best 3 point shooter on the team(in the NBA maybe?) so yeah i think he'd be able to conribute very nicely even if he is not the 1st or 2nd person running down the court every time. He doesn't need to run to the hoop in 7 seconds, just the 3 point line

And what's everyone else's excuse?

Houston would make a very good player development coach/apprentice. The guys respect him and he is a very intelligent basketball mind. Coaching's in his blood anyway. Let him keep working with the team and be on standby in case of injuries, but I wouldn't give up a roster spot for him unless there are a few buyouts coming before the start of the season.

Craig Hodges? I would take that in a second! No way Houston can do now what Craig Hodges did when he was the 3 point specialist for the Bulls. I have never, ever, seen anyone as good as Craig Hodges at hitting 3's catching the ball in any position and getting off the shot so quick that you barely saw him touch the ball. He hit them standing sideways, falling away, moving the wrong direction.

Houston is beyond hurt, he's cooked, finished, DONE.

If he even makes the team I'll bet he doesn't play 100 minutes for the season.

But I think management understands this. He's not really here for on-the-court contributions anyway.

Set him back??? Every time I hear this guys name, I get very negative! It's a joke he's even back and given another chance! Never did I think for a moment I'd have to address him trying out for this team again. Talk about going backwards! I don't care if he can shoot from mid court. I want this excuse of an athlete out!!!

Dell Curry had the quickest release I have ever seen but Hodges was also good.

The bottom line is how Houston does in a game. I'm a little skeptical, but I'm open to be proven wrong. That's why I was disappointed that he didn't play. If his contributions on the court outweigh his weaknesses, we'll all be happy. If not, sayonara for the last time.

The only thing that bothers me are people's unrealistic expectations for a retired, over the hill, out of condition, broken player trying to make it in a young man's system. It's a far fetched notion, at best, that he can contribute in any significant way on the floor.

But I think it's quaint that he's giving it a go.

4949 is clearly bothered by the fact that he is even here.

I haven't heard too many people expecting much from Allan, but I'm sure there are some out there. I think it's clear to most that he has a slim outside shot of making the team. And if he happens to make it he will be a locker room prescence that can provide us with some outside shooting for very short minutes. What's wrong with that expectation? If he doesn't make the team he goes to the front office and we move on. If he makes the team, he's a good influence. I'm not even sure why this is an issue? Him being in camp is not going to have any negative effect on the long-term success of this team. But the attempt and the old school work ethic may actually have a positive effect on our young guys.
