No biggie. Enjoy.
Did the best I could with quality. 250 megs is pretty large. Cant do much more with that unfortunately.

Hey cosmic, thanks a lot for the game. I'm still waiting for my cable install next Friday, so I'm without my Knicks for a little. The video was superbly edited as well, right down to the free-throws.

I'm wondering, what did you use to capture the video?

Long ago I installed what's called a TV Tuner card. It just slides into any available PCI slot. It functions like a cable box. Screw in the coaxial from your cable and you're ready to go. The card came with software that includes video capturing ability. Comes with a remote. You just load the software and a window opens up on your monitor that displays television.

From there as I watch the game I hit record...then hit stop when I feel there's going to be a large break in the action.

Then I load all the files (last night I ended up with 44 individual mpgs) into windows movie maker and I compress things down. This go around I compressed down to 512k stream (was 340 or less at times last season but zhsare now allows 500mb files so I was able to up the final quality)...which came out to about 254 megs. The mpgs I recorded at a quality of 150 out of a possible 500 and a stream value of 1000k out of a possible 5000k and sound at 128 out of a possible 360 and the game was STILL 1.1 GIGABYTES of data in the end. Hence, the necessary compression and crappier feed as a result...but until someone figures out how to upload a gigabyte in a timely manner I will have to compress.

That's the short version.

I see what you're talking about. Funny, because the first PC I ever bought, a Compaq Presario, around 1995, had that card. I used to take screen shots and capture video of EVERYTHING back then. No PC I've had since has that. Weird. Feel free to post some more preseason games ;) haha.

my question is, using DVR... if you record a show.. then play it back... will it come up on your capture card? or can it only capture LIVE feeds

Depends on your box. But normally, whatever you are playing should come out through your TV tuner card if it is attached tot eh cable box.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
