I just don't think it makes sense to keep this guy around, when you can groom a young player or keep a better player (H2O). His old tricks just don't work anymore so instead of taking on additional money by trading him we should just get rid of him. Either sign H2O for the veteran minimum or see if one of the young guys catch or sign another young player to develop. This winter we can see if we can fine suckers for Q-brick(not convinced with lighter self) and Biggie-Fatback James(meh). We should still go with Oneyearleftbury for the time being as well,(left his hoe dough fall off the books at the end of the year) we don't need to add additional contracts. Your thoughts please?

Isn't he the only non-insane person left in that locker room? We might need that more than you think.

We actually have a competent management team in place so I don't think him leaving would hurt us too much. This is Malik Rose we are talking about here, begone with his lame pull the chair from under the opponent crap and thinking he is an option on offense with his famous spin move(which usually ends up out of bounds).

i think he's a good role-model for the team. he's worth keeping around for that, and his expiring contract might be more useful than Stephon's - there are a lot more guys who make around $7-8 M who expire in 2010 than there are guys who make $21M.

I'd keep Malik. Waive Jerome James and Marbury.

Kwame remember was an expiring in the same range as malik and that got the lakers Paul Gasol so you need to have assets just in case. Lets say they had Malik last year and could have moved lee and Malik for Gasol. They would have taken that deal and we would have had a good movable asset that could get the team young talent.

Here's your 15, if I was GM:

PG: Duhon, Nate
SG: Craw, JJ Reddick (via trade w/ Orlando for Mardy Collins), Houston
SF: Chandler, Q, Gallo
PF: Zach, Lee, PE Jr.
C: Darko (via trade w/ Memphis for Curry), Malik, JJ2

15th spot goes to James or Roberson, depending on whether MD'a & DW want to go big or small with the last roster spot.

Cut Marbury.

I don't think you can start Chandler ahead of Q at this point. Q by all indications is shooting it better and defends better than Wilson.

Duhon seems to be a waste of time and Collins has outplayed him in camp and is bigger and more physical. I am a little shocked how the most erratic player in the entire league just gets slotted in at the two spot. Marbury is still the best guard on the team and I think Nate is close behind him. If he is your bench infusion thats fine, but Crawford is the worst defensive guard on the team hands down, his the worst shot selection hands down, so I'm not sure why he deserves to start, he can't shoot above 41% with one of the best handles in the league and being 6'5? Thats disgraceful

Marbury(30)/Duhon(18)
Nate(20)/Crawford (28)
Q(28)/Chandler (20)
Zach(30)Jefferies (12)
Lee(36)/Curry (18)

No need for James/Roberson/Ewing Jr. I think the minute distrubtion is fair on all accounts and lets all the guards play at a frantic high energy pace and remain fresh while allowing Lee to do all the garbage work and be a glue guy. Curry get his limited minutes to impose some will down below and draw some fouls to get the bigs in trouble you have enough defensive minutes for duhon and everyone is moderatly happy. The second brings good defense with wilson, duhon and jefferies and maximizes curry with three shooters on the floor.

I would wave him and let H20 pick up his slot. Houston give the same good locker room presence and can actually provide something on the court.

This is what I am saying

8 seconds or less, and everyone is flying up court.
How sweet will it be to have Houston trail a play and just stick 3pt daggers all day? a la, dell curry, rex Chapman, steve kerr, donyell marshall, boobie, damon jones, and your favorite annoying ass specialist winding down their careers. Sweeeeeeet!

Where did you hear that from? The only thing I heard was that Q was shooting well from the 3 point line. I didn't hear at all how much defense he was playing. The only defensive battles from my understanding have been between Chandler and Ewing. Maybe D'Antoni is holding that against them like Collins.

it would make a lot more sense to waive Marbury or Turd James, since we'll never be able to trade either of them... at least w/Malik u have the hope some team would wanna unload 1 year of salary of a mid level player who might actually help us this season... no one's taking Marbs or James off our hands.

I knew there was a catch. Another houston sucker. That guy needs to be thrown from the building and told 'never come back'.
I'll never trust this' team again.
