Are the Kncks going to keep him on their roster to develop? Have they hired a personal strength coach to work with him?

I think the Knicks did sign him to a contract and are expecting to have him develop with the team. He definatley didn't want to o back to Europe to play.

yeah the NYK signed him last month. He's a big body that we really need.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think they will keep him as an injured reserve this year. They will slowly try to develop him into a guy who can replace Knight and Doleac as the 10th, 11th, or 12th man off the bench. Then maybe by his 3rd year in the league they can slowly try to give him minutes until he can become a perminate part of the 9-man rotation and get about 20 minutes a game off the bench by his 4th year with any luck.

Yeah, especially since Knight gets so many minutes hahahahahah he barely even gets minutes at garbage time - oh wait, I forgot that all 48 minutes seem to be that way last season. I think I drank some Haterade at lunch.

They are going to use this entire year to attempt to get his weight up into the 290-300 range while working on his conditioning. I think it's a smart plan.

Vranes should be the 12th guy this year and play in blowouts. He needs to practice everyday and play as much as possible. the wieght will come. I think he can contribute by year 3, if he has the skills.

Hopefully in a few years our team will look like this.

C Lampe
PF McDyess
SF Van Horn
SG Houston
PG Vujanic
6th Sweetney
7th Williams
8th Vranes

Along with a good swingman and maybe a solid player that we trade Thomas for. We should be very good.

Yeah that would be great but of those players listed only one has actually produced for the KNicks in the regular season (Houston). The rest have not been given time or are rookies who haven't played a quarter(Williams, Lampe, Sweetney, Vranes)We don't know if they will pan out. One of the player on the list could possibly never play again (Dice). And another player might never put on the NYK uniform (Vujanic). And another player might pull a disappearing act (KVH). When all is said and done only one as of now that we know will produce is Houston. Hopefully as you said these players step up and become very good players for the KNicks.

Vranes is just 20, and he is a pretty mobile young guy who is 7'5.
He is like a bonus, if he turns out to be a good player, then fine, if not then not much was expected of him....

If he puts the weight on and has skills that would be great but:
1) Putting that much weight on to such a slim frame is extremly hard.
2) He doesnt show signs of having great talent, just that he is mobile - so who knows what he can actually do.

As far as KVH goes and the future lineup I have to say that this guy is a decent player. I didnt want him on this team, especially for Spree but he is a solid player and has been on some good teams. He will help, he may not put us over the top but he wont be a bust.

I have this feeling that Vranes is going to be the 2nd coming of Chuck Nevitt.

Here is to hoping that he becomes the next Mark Eaton instead. He would need to add a lot of poundage.

I think Vranes comes off the bench later-9th or 10th, given a 2-3 year time frame.

C: Lampe, Doleac, Thomas (if Knick)
PF: McDyess, Sweetney, Thomas (If Knick)
SF: Van Horn, Nailon
SG: Houston, Andersen
PG: Eisley, Williams

Bench: Postell, Harrington, Vranes

Seems more likely. Why? Noone is exactly beating down the door for our contracts. We've got tradable entities in Ward, Thomas, and possibly Houston. Everyone else is KFL (Knick for Life).

So, you need to make the best of it. KVH plays, no matter what, so we should resign Nailon, give us insurance at SF.

If Thomas is still a Knick, then he starts at the 4 if McDyess is still out.

Andersen just singed a multi-year deal last year, so he's a KFL. He stepped up his game last year, so it's not a total loss. If Houston is still around that's a good rotation. If not, we need a 2, since a Postell/Andersen rotation strikes me as a bit thin.

Juvanic might never play, and face it, Eisley is no j-kidd, but he's better than Ward. Williams will take some time to come along, but a Elisey/Williams rotation seems "on par" with the rest of the east.

Unless we get a trade at center, this is the big hole in the roster. I expect that Thomas will continue to be pushed into the 5, unless he is traded, with Doleac and Lampe rotating in. Vranes might come off the bench, year 2, but forget this year. He's not strong enough yet. Lampe is closer to getting he green-light.

Looks like there is still soem work to do.

Nailon is a free agent. I doubt he'll be back...

Postel is also very unlikely to rejoin the Knicks, and that does make us pretty thin at shooting gaurd with only Houston and Anderson.

....maybe we should try and bring Postel back.

I guess the question is roster spots....we took on 3 new rookies. We need 3 roster spots to open up. Pope, Nailon and Postel seem to be the 3 that are most likely to be gone.

Andrew, I think we should pick up Tyrone Nesby again, he would fit our team perfectly...atheletic and cheap!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Isn't Nailon a restricted free agent? If so, he could be back...too many forwards on this squad though.
