Knicks guard Stephon Marbury, who appeared to have one foot out the door all summer long, sees himself as the starting point guard for the team.
New coach Mike D'Antoni is rumored to view Chris Duhon as the starter, with Marbury coming off the bench as a sixth man.
"You can't assess it yet," Marbury said of his competition with Duhon for the starting gig. "When the 29th comes, when the lights come on, it will be different. It doesn't matter now who is on the court at what position. I know when that the game starts, I'll have the ball or I'll be receiving the ball to make plays for others and myself."
We might have a problem. I can see Marbury raising hell if he is not made the starting PG this yr. Yet another year with controversy.

he's doing what he does best... being a huge disruption to the goals of the team & setting himself apart from everyone else... personally i think he's just angling for the team to get desperate & finally grant him his full buyout... i don't care what he says, he doesn't wanna step on the court at MSG this year & get booed again, which is what's gonna happen to him unless he goes out & plays outta his mind this year.

if he accepts his role and we got steph, nate, and chandler off the bench, were lookin' pretty damn good. that's some serious fire power off the bench if steph does'nt screw it up.
come to think of it, lemme blow some smoke up you guys' arses...what if steph got 6th man of the year. what would that do for his chances of being resigned. (by another team ofcourse)

They got Duhon with the intent of getting rid of Steph. If Steph is still here when the season starts then he should start. A healthy, ready to play Steph is better than Duhon. I don't like Stephs attitude any more than most of you but if he's truly ready to play, he should be our starter at the point. If he doesn't play well or becomes a problem, it will be handled accordingly.
