Utah picked up Koufus so there is even less room on the roster for big men. Fesenko is an aggresive athletic big body and he can move up and down quite nicely at 7-1 280. We could really use the big body in some situations and at 22 years old--he's got some decent upside off the bench. Not a big deal by any means but if we are not going to use Mardy lets get something we need.

Saw him play a bit against the Knicks or Nets maybe, can't recall and he came off the bench putting up decent numbers for an injured Utah team. I'll take him over Jerome James any day of the week without watching him play but I doubt we'd have room for him.

We need a big active athletic body in situational circumstance. We cant guard certain teams big men. I think we need another big man since Jefferies is down and the unkown with Curry. The Nets have too many big men and if we'd rather get a big who has more speed--maybe the Nets would be interested in trading for Collins using Boone or Williams? Or possible Swift for Malik rose?
We just need to add to the front-court--whether it be a big big guy who can give us some banging rebounding and defense in situations if James is going to be hurt OR like I mentioned a smaller F who has shot blocking skills and speed like a Boone Williams or Swift. The Nets are kind of short at pure back up PG. I just dont know if they would deal with us.

Completely agree. I know I sound like a broken record but I think Justin Williams would have been perfect. He would've been a no risk/high reward type that we could've signed for the league minimum. He's exactly what you're describing here bro (and exactly what we're lacking) - 6'10" athletic rebounder/shotblocker. Now Golden State scouped him up recently but I doubt he sticks on that roster. In fact I just watched a little clip of Nellie this morning talking about training camp and his club and he failed to mention this kid once. Nellie also said he plans to play Biedrins more mins. this season. Another thing to note about Williams is that he's listed on multiple web sites as 260 lbs. now. If that's accurate, that's up a good 30-35 lbs. from the past couple of years, so it sounds like this kid may have gotten a lot stronger which was a concern 'cause he was a little thin. Boggles my mind that we failed to bring him in when we had the chance, but if G.S. cuts him loose, you grab him. If you can work something out with Jersey for either S. Williams or Boone fine but I know I'd rather have Mardy (who's had a good camp) and Justin Williams than Stromile Swift...

Better question is why the Knicks want to replace Mardy Collins with Roberson?

I think that with Marbury Duhon Robinson and Crawford not even including roberson--we are stacked. We are thin upfront with Jefferies going down.

That's why it made no sense to get rid of Balkman and add another backup pg but that is a dead issue. I think the front line was in trouble when it wasn't really address in the draft or free agency.

well i guess the plan wouldve been PT for both Gallinari and Jefferies. My guess is both wont see time until a good 20-25 games or so--so the question is do we try to get some help upfront--if we want to win--i would try. even a rose for swift type deal might be beneficial

How bout we just keep Mardy Collins? We developed him for the last two seasons, and he hasn't had a chance to prove what he's capable of. I think he'll be great in the new system.

Personally, I'm glad we get a chance to see what these guys are made of. If they get injured, then it means they aren't in shape for this kind of play and it opens up our options for possible more changes that will get us to were we want to be.

Developed him into what? A scrub? Because that's what he is. And you release scrubs.

He never got a chance. Simple as that.

This is what's going to go down with this team. D'Antoni is going to keep switching groups of players in and out, so everyone touches the ball and no one burns out. But when they are in, they will be running up and down, non stop. They won't have time to think, so they will make fewer errors. This team is very capable of that kind of play. No one is the star, no one hogs the ball, no one takes the pressure. It's a team effort all the way round. Collins is very much gonna be a part of this team and he'll thrive just like the others.

Keep in mind when taking all of this in. This was not and will not be focused on as a defensive team. This particular team is gonna be all offense, with whatever D they can grab along the way. Like D'Antoni said, they will out score the opponents. It may not happen right away, but it will happen in the beginning of the season at some point. You can mark these words if you'd like, because I can see what's coming and if you like what I see it's all good.

I'm starting to change my mind as to about how many wins we will get this year.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I don't think we need to trade Collins to obtain him, I think he'll be a free agent after this season and he wouldn't have room to do anything this season.

Mardy is not a scrub--he was hurt last year. Mike D said he was impressive--I dont think he is just saying that to increase his value. We do need big men but we need good players from any position even more. I can probably see us playing 1 big and 4 smalls a lot anyway.

Hurt last year? LOL.

Alright, forget it. I'm not gonna waste my time arguing over 15-th men off the bench. Think what you want but Mardy wont even be the league after his time is done with the Knicks.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
