Locked-out Pacers point Jamaal Tinsley was traded to the Nuggets for Chuckie Atkins and Stephen Hunter, The Post has learned.

The deal is contingent on Tinsley passing a physical. Chronically injured over the last four years (only once playing more than 42 games) and embroiled in violent encounters on three separate occasions (none of which he instigated), he spent all summer in Atlanta rehabbing his body and is said to be a great condition.

Denver assumes his $21M, 3-year debt. Atkins is due $3.24M and $3.48M while Hunter is guaranteed $3.86M and $3.69M. Less than half of their total salary remaining is guaranteed.

Another stablizing move for Denver

Smith, Tinsley, Iverson, Carmelo, KMart, someone is going to end the season in prision for killing a teammate.

Indy Star beat writer Mike Wells has verified that the trade is not going to happen, but Vescey says it is a done deal, contingent on Tinsley passing a physical. Vescey spent much of Friday bashing a competing paper for not having reliable sources, so it will be interesting to see if this trade actually happens or not"

I hope this trade doesn't go down for the sole fact that Vecsey will look like a huge dumbass considering the column he has out today ripping apart Newsday.

Iverson is better than Steph clearly, but it would be the worst deal if we sent steph and marty collins for AI. It's not like Iverson has got them any where.

They could play smith at the two and get the same production nearly at a higher clip and open up more minutes for Klieza.
