With Gasol and Bynum back, Odom looks to be the odd man out in LA LA land.

With a report that Ariza might start @ the 3 instead of Odom......there seems to be a little rift between Phil and Lamar.

Odom, fisher, Mihm for Stephon Marbury

We all know Marbs can still play and may have a breakout year cuz its his contract year. He's already in the best shape of his life. Starbury might be back. The Lakers best option is Derek Fisher at the point. Marbs is a better option especially with Gasol, and Bynum. Kobe all day in the clutch btw.

Knicks get Odom to play one year ahead of Wilson Chandler @ the 3. Odom is a marvelous ball handler and another scoring option for the team. Zach, odom, and Lee up front at the same time is murda on the boards. Craw, Nate, Duhon, houston can all handle the backcourt. Add in wilson chandler, jared and curry off the bench and this looks like a playoff team.

...then again, i don't think Phil is crazy enough to try to win with Marbury. And I think he probably remembers the 2004 "Super" Lakers with Payton and Malone being asked to play third and fourth fiddle and not liking it all too well.

I'm not sure I believe it either. Ariza is a nice player but he still is more of an opportunistic scorer rather than a scorer or shooter. Maybe he has turned into something...

Unless they are so loaded with Bynum, Kobe and the Spanish guy for scoring that they are looking to bring in more of a defender at the 3?
