It appears the Nets may no longer be players for Lebron in 2010. According to several reports (see below) the construction of the new Brooklyn stadium has been delayed another year. Additionally, with the economic crisis and credit squeeze, there is a strong possibility the thing NEVER gets built. No Brooklyn, No Lebron for the Nets. Sweet!!!

By the way, Knick fan for 25 years. New to the boards. Have been reading them for a while, but have never posted. Nice job by everyone, except that ass Islesfan. Later...

Welcome to the board! Lebron is the big prize of 2010 but I'm not focused solely on him. There are a lot of great FA options and you can make a lot of great trades when you have cap space that you otherwise couldn't. Before worrying about any other team's FA signing abilities, though, the Knicks have to worry about getting rid of a bunch of players with bad contracts. If the rumored Sixers' and then Clippers' deals were accurate, then Walsh screwed up big time this off-season and there may not be a second chance. He's going to have to do everything nearly perfectly if he wants to be under the cap by a wide enough margin to sign Lebron or another big FA in 2010. There isn't going to be room for many more mistakes.

Walsh will get more chances.

Nets likley pay very little rent on that building, and could also play out in Nassau County for very cheap rent on that old piece of crap coliseum.

If lebron plays, they sell out and make a pile of money for a year or two before they move.

You can even say that if they don't move to brooklyn signing lebron is even more important to the franchise.

But, Lebron would be more valuable in a knick uniform then playing in a bastard arena.

Both teams are building assets that could be used in a sign and trade if it comes to that.

our chances for Lebron are still zero until we start to dump some of those immoveable contracts.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
