Ok two more nights left. I hope someone makes it out the music has been KILLING but maybe you need to hear it from the NYTIMES ★ BILL MCHENRY QUINTET (Tuesday through Thursday) On one of his two fine recent albums, the tenor saxophonist Bill McHenry refines his rapport with the mysterious drummer Paul Motian; on the other, he digs in with the forthright trumpeter Duane Eubanks. Here the two prospects combine, in a new quintet that also includes the multireedist Andrew D’Angelo and the bassist Ben Street. (Through Oct. 5.) or TIMEOUT Tenorist Bill McHenry can summon gorgeous romance and even nostalgia, but he never falls into the staid tropes of by-the-numbers jazz. Roses, his most recent disc as a leader, is a slippery, luminous session, showcasing his bold compositional voice and the round-edged elegance of his tone. This week he leads a topflight quintet with altoist Andrew D’Angelo, trumpeter Duane Eubanks, bassist Ben Street and drummer Paul Motian. or NEW YORKER Bill McHenry, one of the most spirited and lyrical of the younger saxophonists crowding the scene, is joined by the alto saxophonist Andrew D’Angelo, the trumpeter Duane Eubanks, the bassist Ben Street, and McHenry’s occasional employer, the acclaimed drummer Paul Motian.
Anyway it's a good sign for the team that a music thread isn't getting any attention. And, yes, I never knew about Andrew Bynum until Briggs.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.
