Is it possible that it may not be the "Titanic" anymore? Look at the other teams...

Boston - the defending champs

Philly - ended extremely strong and now have Elton Brand

Toronto - (provided he doesn't get injured during warmups) Jermaine O'Neal in the middle, moving DinoBosh to the 4 along with the rest of the strong suiting Euros.

Swamprats - doesn't look like much past Devin Harris and Vince but the draft picks may be decent. Looks like they're going to have the division basement this season (at least I hope so).

I don't see how (barring injuries of course) Boston, Philly and Toronto don't make playoffs this season.

Its a tough Division all right. How long before we can compete with these guys?

We'll look at the east......I mention some teams in another thread but forgot the Cavs and the Bulls. The other teams are boston, philly, atlanta, detroit, bucks, wizard, toronto, and maybe the nets. Bobcats are in the east too right? They could suprise. The Knicks are in the pack that includes, the bulls bobcats, nets, and bucks. Why not the Knicks? The are being coached for once and the talent has always been there. Why not the Knicks bro?

Realistically, The Knicks most likely will be on the outside looking in. Its all good. The important thing this year is to bring respect back to the Knicks. D'antoni will do it and within the next few season the Knicks will be back.

boston, philly and toronto are quality teams. 1 is championshp caliber and the other 2 can win 50 games this year.

kg, pierce, ray in boston
brand, iggy, miller in philly (along with top notch defense)
bosh, calderon, o'neal in toronto

knicks and nets have to wait it out till 2010...

I agree with dj. The best we can hope for is fourth place in the division.

Finally no false expectations.
First and main step in right direction - recognition that you are sh..t.

NO!!!! NEVER commit to such a negative view at the start of a season. All indications are that MDA is going to look for lineups that allow him to run his system and since he isn't trying to make his own selections look good like Isiah did, he's not stuck to any of these players. I really think we may see the best lineups we've seen from this team in a long time. Now that doesn't mean we'll be world beaters, but this team could be decent and make a push to get into the playoffs.

I just read how most of the team came to camp in shape with the noted exception of Curry. I think these guys really do want to take advantage of this opportunity to change the perception that they're a bunch of losers. In this league the talent is so close that being dedicated and on the same page can make a LOT of difference.

No more unwarranted bashing guys! Come on it's a new year and these guys haven't played single game yet. Haven't we had enough negativity around here? I'm not pulling for the few jerks on the team, but the good guys who want to be better.

GO KNICKS!!!!

I concur. Expecting 40+ wins and a playoff birth is pretty close to a pipe dream. I understand we have a new coach, but we're most the same team, and there's reason to get our hopes up for nothing. Let's just hope for improvement, organization and our guys playing hard for the first time in three or four years. That would be notable.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
