1)Try to revisit the Memphis deal and give the 1st rounder pick if necessary?
- People have suggested it's more important to get rid of him immediately, regardless of the price.
2)Swap evenly for Kenyon Martin
- Kind of a lateral move, but his style of play is better, even the attitude is similar.
3)Work out something with another team (GS? Harrington and S.Jackson for Zack, Nate & future 1st)
- Couldn't find a realistic move...with Memphis saying "no", we may have a harder time w/equity
4)Enter the season w/Zack and hope he increases his value - the trade him at deadline
- The unknow...history suggests he will play well individually, but he is what he is, will it help?
5)Keep him on the roster, but send him away to "attitude improvement" camp. He can return when E.Curry returns from "fat camp."
- His trade value won't likley improve much anyway, at least he doesn't poison the lockeroom?

I have read a lot of the posts lately...and believe option 2 may be better than options 1, 4 and 5. Only option 3 seems to have hope of accomplishing an eventual fair trade. I can't see any other team offering us fair value after Memphis pulled the plug. I'm hesistant to start the year with him, more so that he becomes harder to move later b/c he fails again with another coach and system (port, isiah, now D'Antoni). While Kenyon is no picnic, he plays hard, and fits better with Curry. His D is decent, he brings energy to the frontline, and allows Lee to not start (everyone debates his role). in a year or two, his "wear and tear" injury issues could result in a medical buyout wheras Zack is healthy (unfortunately)...maybe he could be traded in a year easier than Zack. Again, it's not great, but maybe better overall (morale, style of play, future trade). thoughts, feedback is welcome...

Option 4. If he increases his value there may be some teams lining up to take a chance on him especially at the trade deadline when the borderline playoff teams (I'm assuming Warriors, Kings, & Nuggets will be in that mix) need a move to improve their chance for a playoff berth.

Very unlikely--very very unlikely. Just think how much value Zach brought back after he averaged 24-10--Steve Francis and Frye. On top of it he's going to retard Lee Curry Gallinari and Chandler progress. They shouldve taken the LA deal where we flipped them a 2012 1 for a second

For the first time ever, I agree.

Maybe he'll put up 30 and 14 this year. Otherwise, I agree. His personal stats don't mean much for trade value. GMs see right through the PPG and RPG he has.

I would still see id Shaun Livingston can come into play some back up PG. What exatcly is the downside? If they cut Marbury we dont have a true back up PG

after a career best 23/10 year what was his trade value? do u really think we're ever gonna get anything of significant value for him in any future deals? we've been discussing this topic for the longest so u already know where i stand on this topic, but just to reiterate once again, i don't think giving up an unprotected pick just to get rid of him is advisable, but if u can get some protection that pick & gain some sort of asset in the process, i think it's a no brainer for us... the added benefits far outweigh the potential negatives in that type of trade.

I would have passed on that rumor then, I would have passed on it now and I would not be giving up any draft picks in this crucial rebuilding period. We need to continue finding good players and do our absolute best at finding a sucker who likes Randolph. He's gonna be there.

Indiana Pacers remove Jamaal Tinsley's nameplate from locker room.

Pacers hate Jamaal Tinsley
September 23, 2008

The Indianapolis Star (Mike Wells) reports: Jamaal Tinsley remains on the roster, but the Pacers have taken steps to distance themselves from the point guard. They’ve removed Tinsley’s nameplate from the locker he used at Conseco Fieldhouse and he is not expected to be at the team’s media day Monday. Jim O’Brien said Tinsley’s situation will not be a distraction. “I don’t see how it’s a distraction,” he said. “I’m just worried about the guys that have uniforms.”

InsideHoops.com editor says: I think opening night for the Pacers at home, after introducing the players the team should place a giant Tinsley blow-up doll at halfcourt. Then, Larry Bird and the rest of the team’s front office staff can kick it. But seriously, I don’t get why the Pacers are handling Tinsley this way. Sure, he’s spent most of his time in Indiana getting injured, and making some mistakes. But when healthy he was pretty solid; worse than most starting point guards but certainly better than almost any PG who comes off a bench. Maybe he tried to rob Bird in the parking lot after a game or something.

This guy would be perfect in the D'Antoni system. A NBA veteran who comes home to finish up his career.

Unfortunately given we passed on the Clipper deal our second stop was a worse deal in the Memphis offer. I don't like the Memphis offer but if someone told me that's as good as it gets then maybe you reconsider making that deal.

That aside I say option 3 of course: Look for that THIRD time to drop him. Would the Cavs deal us BWallace's 2010 expiring for Zach? If so? Great!!! What was the Bulls thing? Gooden and Hughes? That was just someone talking out loud though. What's on Golden State? You leave Option 2 well alone: Kenyon Martin. See, you want Zach AND as much of the 2011 money off the books as possible. KMart doesn't help that.

If Option 3 falls through then you unfortunately suck it up and take option 4. Very dangerous game to enter the season with him. If you want to make him look good you have to make other players on this team take so much of a back seat that they won't play as well as they can. Then you hope you can move Zach once he looks real good - AND THEN HOPE - you can build Curry back up - and once Lee and Gallo and Chandler get their minutes back they come back out of the shells created by lack of playing time - and lack of team chemistry - due to Zach.

Zach's a huge road block here. It would have been best to move him before training camp began.

keeping Zach would be the worst possible option... ur retarding the development of our younger guys who should be getting those touches on offense... what can we possibly achieve by holding onto Zach? everyone knows he had almost zero trade value after a career best season, & last season he looked completely lost playing w/these guys & does not fit into an uptempo style game whatsoever, so what's the point in trying to pump up his value now? it won't be valuable for another 2 years, bank on it... until then u'r just gonna keep getting these lowball type offers & teams looking to milk another asset outta us in order to do us the favor of taking on his contract, & make no mistake that IS a HUGE favor.

just get rid of him... then you try to pump up Curry's value to where it was before last season & then deal him off, because unlike Zach i believe Curry did have pretty good trade value after that career best season he had & we coulda flipped him for at least a pretty good asset if Isiah were looking to do so... Zach's a huge road block here just like u said... holding onto him does us absolutely no good.
