Finally there's some video of Eddy and how he's looking right now.
http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/blog/2008/09/eddy_curry_sighting_do_cornrow.html

To me he looks to be in better shape than he looked to me at the end of the year. His face looks thinner and overall he seems like he's not filling out his T shirt as much as when he's overweight. I'd say he doesn't look bad for this point in the year. Let's hope he can get in even better shape and keep it there all year. I would have to guess that Mike will have them running all practice so that should help.

Yeah with his body type he's never really gonna look slim so to speak. He's got that Barkley or Mahorn kind of hip structure, so he'll never lose that big rear end. As long as he's in top shape aerobically what his body actually looks like is less important.

The thing about Eddy is that he's agile and quicker than he looks, but carrying that extra weight has really held him down. Now I'm hoping that he can trim down enough to really get up and down the floor as a trailor and finisher. He's certainly no Amare, but he'll be more than athletic enough to catch Alley's and finish if he's in shape.

My guess is 25 to 30 minus Zach or with Zach. I think Mike will use Curry to help spread the floor. Someone will have to stay near him at all times and if he's single covered near the basket that's an instant 2 points. Curry may be a lot of things, but he's a beast inside with only single coverage.

Mike and Walsh will do what Isiah failed to do and that is surround Curry with shooters, keep players moving and the ball moving to open up great shots. No more of this standing around as Curry tries to get position and the guards try to force feed the ball. I found it funny that Curry was so successful when we used him more as a decoy and then hit him for dish offs and alley's. Teams can't stop him when he's already moving and get's the ball like in pick and roll or just cuts to the hole.

One thing we know Jamal can do is make the alley oop pass to Curry and if Duhon is the better play maker that I believe he is, then Curry can get a lot done for us on offense again, but not just on strict post ups, which just stagnate the offense. 25-30 sounds about right.

he looks to be more to where he was when he first broke into the league, at least from his neck up... hard to tell where he is w/that baggy shirt on... we'll see how much in shape he is after the first game of the season.

I really hope we can trade him and Eddy. That would be tremendously helpful toward getting top FAs in 2010/11

Why? you haven't even seen how well he will do in this system.

Has he done very well in any other system? He doesn't even rebound and rebounders are needed extrememly for the fast break. Them and shotblockers. Much more so than low post scorers.

I'm with Bonn. (hard to believe, right?)

If Z-Bo is so untradable then move Curry and Crawford, who equal $20 million instead of 17. The next year we'd then lose Zach's contract and could be in position to sign another free agent (Yao, Melo, etc.).

I have been a Curry and Craw supporter, but they can be moved if it means we can't do so with Zach, and it helps us get into the free-agent market after the 2010 season.

I truly hate Eddy Curry. He is an example of all that is wrong with the New York Knicks.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Im not a fan of his either...Im just saying, that training facility is more then just working out. Your suppose to be learning additional skills in reguards to rebounding, foot work, and so forth. You see the names on the lockers, Im sure (being this is his first time)he has improve in some area.

It's hard to tell if he can ever put it all together so to speak. I thought the year before last, he had a pretty good year. Still not even close in terms of rebounding and shotblocking, but I thought he showed a bit of dominance offensively. He has a shot to show us something this year. I'm sure that Mike and Walsh will be watching real close to see if he comes ready to play on both ends. I think Mike believes he can use Curry in similar ways as Amare, perhaps not as spectacularly, but you get the idea.

The shotblocking has to come up tho and that's where his weight becomes an issue. He's got to be spry and light enough to give 110% on both ends.

it comes down to the individual. you have a player that's perpetually out of shape, must be coddled, and if he doesn't get his way, will pout. you can invest time into him b/c he's young enough, but in the interim, gm's and coaches are getting fired...

I meant him an Zach (not him and Eddy). I don't think he'll do well in any system that involves basketball.

I'd aim to trade all three

What will we do without Trueblue's borderline homerotic lovingly crafted, painstaking visual detailing of Curry's every bulge and bump?

***

In any case, if Curry doesn't get traded (I hope he does), I am hoping D'Antoni becomes the first Knicks coach to use Curry properly: Station him 5-8 feet from the basket. He only gets the ball when his man slides off to cover a driver. He takes only 2 types of shot: layup/dunk moving towards the basket full bore, or soft 5 to eight foot shot, probably moving at the basket and hopefully shooting down at it.

No more posting up Curry or running anything through him. He is an offense killer.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

So basically, he's a role player who only takes wide open layups and the occasional short jumper that he'll hit 20% of the time. Cool.
