in pat riley's speech, he said his very first practice with the knicks, they had a grueling 3 hour workout, which included a 15 min fight between two players (he didn't divulge the players that fought).

riley then ended practice and called everyone to bring it in. as all the players put their hands in the circle, riles was about to say "1-2-3 de-fence"...until patrick ewing told him "coach...is this all you got?" (in reference to the practice only being 3 hours long).

this guy was my favorite basketball player of all time, and 2nd favorite athlete of all time behind mattingly. i remember countless arguments i would get into actually having to defend ewing from knicks fans that didn't appreciate him. just goes to show you that ny fans are never satisfied. ewing was my main man...

Ewing is and forever will be the man. He is the greatest Knick of all-time and my favorite Knick ever as well. I still miss him to this day. The heart he brought into every game was so awesome. He was a passionate and tough player. A true warrior. Makes me ashamed to see these pansies we have today defaming the Knicks name.
