It was short, to the point, honest and humble!

This guy has a world of talent and I think he gets it.

make him an allstar...then trade him before he asks for a 6 year extension at age 30...

This was actually refreshing to read. I was expecting "company speak" but it's pretty honest and upfront, IMO.

Jamal Crawford only know how to talk, or in this case type. His game will never change. He is who he is. He's not a bad guy but he's not a key guy on a winning team.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

For along time I bought his nice guy bulldinky. I don't care if you blow smoke up my patooty with a smile, it's still blowing smoke up my patooty. He'll get bigger or he'll get better on the defensive end or whatever... he says one thing, does another. Some of the best advice I've ever heard was to not judge someone by their words, but rather their actions. And with JC, his actions demonstrate he's a liar. His nice guy demeanor doesn't change he never seems to do what he says.

Exactly.

This is almost sad because he acknowledges he's a poor player - then goes on to deflect blame for it - then goes on to give the same old tired "I will improve." speech.

9 coaches in 9 years and he's played for a lot of crappy teams. No reason he cant have a CWebb type career. He has played on some terrible teams.

He has some skills... its up to this coach to see if he can make him a part of a winning team

marbury's had a ton of coaches too.

ewing did as well his first 6 years in the league but that didn't stop him from being elite which is what crawford thinks he could be.

crawford will be less of a pg this year and more of a scorer. his #'s should go up as i think he will become the #1 option on the team. seriously, make him an allstar and then trade him. he may have some value around the league and at age 29 (next march), he doesn't have a long term future with the knicks.

Craw needs a focus. D'antoni is gonna bring that. Their styles mesh. Its gonna be beautiful. At least with these facts I have good reason to be optimistic.

I've sat next to some of you guys at games man so you guys know how I feel about craw......at the same time, the guy is like my favorite player on the Knicks. He just needs that focus....I believe he's hit the Jackpot with D'antoni here.

I'm a fan of Crawford. I think he's a great guy and his attitude is the type of attitude that you want on your team. He listens to his coaches and at least attempts to put there words into practice. Coaches love that and it means a lot even if you do come up short. That being said, in this blog you can kind of see why Craw has not improved much in certain areas of his game. Despite the fact that he acknowledges his weaknesses(which is a good step) he seems to make excuses in this blog for each one. The defensive portion really bothered me. Why is it that the league's worst defenders are always discussing how diffult it is to "shut down" NBA players. Of course it's hard, doesn't mean you have to be one of the worst at your position doing it. Craw has the prototype body and quickness to be a great defender. He has just never focused on it. I personally like the guy, but I'm so sick of these guys talking about how much they have to improve certain key parts of their game, and yet they never do.
I just hope that people will like me

If he becomes a star, worthy of D'Antoni, well then by golly, that would be huge for us. I hope it happens.

Crawford always seemed to play hard. But B--ball is a tam game - 5 players and a coach. We now have an excellent coach. So I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Think we said the same things when we hired Lenny Wilkens and LB.

D'Antoni as the coach is the greatest thing that could happen to Crawford's career. I appreciate the fact that he reached out to the fans to address the weaknesses in his game, but all that leaves is us to RIP on him harder when he doesn't get better in those areas. However, I truly hope he does get better.

Just remember Mr. Crawford not even the great Michael Jordan could hit every shot...so you making every shot isn't gonna happen. Work the picks like Rip Hamilton or drive the lane more so you can have better shots.

I think this is a season of last chances for alot of players. It's crawford's last chance to prove he isn't some chucker that shoots a low% to score a decent # of points on a bad team and plays no D. I eel like we've heard this soong and dance from him before so I'm thinking he bombs.

Yes , you are right. We did hear the same things. But now there are 2 big differences.
1. Isiah is no longer in charge.
2. Dolan seems to have relinguished control to Walsh

How would you feel if about Crawford if he averages 25ppg 6apg 4rpg and 2spg while shooting 40% from the field and the Knicks barely miss the playoffs?

I'd give him a reprieve if he played good D while doing it. Shooting 40% while having poor D(team) isn't going to cut it though. Also Craw can shoot well when he takes smart shots..if he is still at 40% it's likely because he's taking long contested 3s' still.

DJ nailed it. Build him up and trade him down.

I'm not interested in Crawford having a good year. I expect that from a featured player on a team expecting to increase it's scoring significantly. When your team plans to monumentally increase it's points scored it's logical to expect several players numbers to go up.

But consistency is the name of the game. Coaches typically last 2-3 years in the league. What gives when D'Antoni's time is up here? I don't want someone who's dependent on having the "right" coach. We've gone through this already with the likes of Jamal, Eddy and Zach. Marbury's "perfect coach" came and went already, but I forget if it was supposed to be Lenny, Larry, Isiah or all three.

We don't need a coach who makes our guys look good, we need guys who make their coach look good.
