A recent article suggests it is possible for the Knicks to deal Thomas, Ward, and either Harrington or Doleac to Dallas for Shawn Bradley and Nick Van Exel. This deal would be a great trade for New York and really make them a solid team even without McDyess for the start of the season. At center Bradley is an excellent temporary solution and can be solid for 3 or 4 years while Lampe continues to develop as a center. Van Exel is a great point guard who can really create things and give us similar scoring numbers to what Van Horn will provide, and will be top-15 in assists as well. After this deal our team will be solid at every position and will be set. The only thing i'm worried about is the point guard situation where Van Exel will start and Eisley and Williams will be left as back-ups. It's obvious one will have to go. I would be really impressed though if Layden can pull this deal off.

That is a bad trade, we will end up exchanging 3 good, short contracts for 2 long, bad contracts.... No way!!

correction: NVE has a shorter contract but there is no way I want bradleys contract, If we can dump shandon Anderson, then maybe, but I like KT and his contract and what he brings to the court..

i would do this trade in a second also. We would upgrade 2 starting positions, and also free up space at the PF position, and create an extra roster space to sign someone. it would balance us off better while also adding defense and scoring.

Nah,dont like this trade.I would rather have Lafrentz than Bradley. This would allow Lafrentz to play PF when Lampe is ready for the C position. That would be a great line up.But the Knicks would have to throw in there draft pick from Houston in this trade for Lafrentz n Van Excel.

Van EXel was the best player in the playoffs in the West not named Tim Duncan, now they will ship him off for Thomas Ward and harrington.

Martin this should be locked my man.

Dallas has to make a trade to keep up with the West. They're best move is to deal for a player like Thomas regardless of the talent they are trading. They almost sent Van Exel, LaFrentz, and Finley to Portland for Wells, Sabonis, and Stoudemire but Portland nixed it. Maybe theres something i'm missing but this deal seems horrible for Dallas and great for Portland, but they're the ones that turned it down. Maybe someone can point out some big factor i missed in this deal. Anyways getting Thomas, Ward, and Doleac or Harrington gives them solid depth and the toughness they want. Van Exel can't hang around for long because of Nash. Dallas also needs to unload one of they're many long, but thin big men. I'm sure they'd rather trade Lafrentz and change for Thomas and Ward, and that would be alright as long as Dyess returns. If Dallas threw in a first rounder it would be good too. I personally think Raef would do excellent in the east, but say what you want it's just my opinion. I also don't think the money he is making is a complete rip-off, it just seems it because of the length of the contract. I think we need to trade Thomas though because its the perfect time to do so. If we can get a solid center(LaFrentz, Bradley and Van Exel, Dampier, Ratliff, Swift) than we need to do it.

If this trade happens, NVE will be the only real fire on the whole squad. Scrawn Bradley??? I swear to God that LayDown needs to take his ass back the hell to Utah with all this madness.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

bradley would be a huge improvement over anyone that we have to play center. at least he can play some defense and clog up the lane, its not like we are looking for him to score. but really, i dont see dallas trading van exel, not unless they got a draft pick or something extra. van exel has shown that he can still play and carry a team like dallas.

Than you choose not to win. NVE is the difference maker where have the Knicks gone playing KT at center or PF. They haven't won in two years. The KNicks need to change the roster and add more firepower to the team. Adding NVE to the team does that. It would give them a big three and if Dice makes it back all of a sudden the team is considered loaded. In the east they would have the most potent starting 4. That would make Bradley strictly a defense presence no offense required. It make very good sense to have this trade go down the Knicks can lose some of the bloated contracts in the process and create roster spots for the rookies and it actually puts less pressure on the rookies to produce. They will open up time for Lampe at the center position and Sweetney can back up Dice. Overall this deal opens the door for the NYK future and present.
