He was 8-12 from the 2 0-3 from 3 and 9-10 from the FL.

For the tournment he is averaging 20 points 13 rebounds 2 blocks in 33 minutes shooting around 50%.

In the Polish media guide they have him listed as a C 7 -3/4 265 born May 17 1985

I think he walked away as the tournament MVP. Thats a center/power forward of the future my friend. I still don't know why Layden is fooling around like this he should sign him ASAP. All this hesitation is only going to cost him more. Give him some of the exception money and get him here.

Man why do you say you don't know why Layden doesn't sign him, Everybody and their grandma knows Dolan calls the shots and Layden executes them.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

right, and also because Real Madrid has some say in the whole process.

Layden will sign Lampe. They are just waiting on the buyout to go down.

What if the price doesn't come down and Lampe continues to put up numbers does Layden call the shots then or does he leave it to Dolan and Lampe's agent. Laayden has a major say in it don't play that card Dolan calls all the shot thing because Layden is the one who advises and if he is convincing Dolan shells out the cash. You know that and I know that. If Layden goes to Dolan and say this cat is going to be a special player Dolan say ok. Why do you think he oked deals like Eisley, Anderson and Spoon because Layden was able to convince Dolan.

... the blind is leading the blind but I doubt either one would take their stupidity to the level of not bringing Lampe in.

If the Knicks dont set him up with at the MINIMUM a two year contract with a team option for a third, they might as well not waste the money. Look at the market for marginal 7 footers--look at what happened to gil arenas and GS--you can literally fck your franchise for being stupid. He has proved worthy of using the MLE with his play in the sl. he is one of the top 10 rookies so he should be paid. anything lessthan three years is such bad management that it boggles the mind. Vranes--it will take him two years to get on an NBA court--idont give a sht.

Lampe could help out from the start and should garner nice time if we really stink. Signing Lampe is a commitment to the future. If he ends up being a collasal bust---just think we paidmore money to Travis Knight to sit on the bench then we would be paying lampe for 3 years.

You make a great point, BRIGGS... GS lost Arenas simply because he wasn't a first round pick. He was the first pick in the second round just like Lampe.

I agree that Layden has more than enough power to sign Lampe now, but lowering the buyout number doesn't just help the Knicks it also helps Lampe and his agent. With a lower buyout, Lampe can pocket more of his contract money rather than using it to pay for his existing Real Madrid contract. I don't think that this is just Layden stonewalling but Lampe's agent trying to get paid.

Briggs, have you thought maybe that Lampe and his agent don't want more than two years at 1 million per from the KNIcks. The foreign players are well aware that Knicks don't play rookies or develope rookies. What is the incentive for Lampe to sign a big deal with the knicks. The Knicks have been known to rot rookies on the bench and Lampe and his agent know it. If the KNicks give Lampe PT and he does well he would be in line to get Arenas type money quickly. If at worst the Knicks decide to keep him and make him ride the bench he has a quick out and can join another team that will give him PT. I think one thing NYK fans need to think about is the NYK history with rookies, which hasn't been great. Vujanic and his agent know the KNicks all to well. They asked the kNIcks to clear the pg clutter which would allow PT to Vujanic but they didn't do it and Vujanic being wise to the NYK history of rotting rookies wanted no part of it and signed with the european team. Yes the KNicks are at fault here for having such a poor record of rookie development that it sometimes works against the team when it come to signing players. Especially for a foreign player which the knicks have yet to put on their roster for a long period of time. Lampe and his agent know the game all to well and they will do what is best for them. This time there isn't much Layden can do. The ball was and always will be in Lampe court its up to him and his agent as to what they want. Do they want a long term deal with the KNicks or do they want to become free agents ASAP. Knowing the KNicks I would choose the latter.
