if he doesn't take her--he wasn't presidential material anyway --- that would mean he is spitting on more than half of the millions of hillary voters. no other vp candidate could come close to hillary and if he cant see that he doesnt deserve it

He needs to take someone tough. Clark is my first choice and Hillary my second. Obama right now looks like a softie who doesn't know how to fight back. He's looking like John Kerry, albeit a more exciting, eloquent version.

I hope he goes with Richardson , the govenor of New Mexico.

I wouldn't trust any of the other candidates for Obama.

William Blaine "Bill" Richardson III (born November 15, 1947) is the current Governor of New Mexico and was a candidate for the 2008 Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States. He was involved in several diplomatic efforts as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and afterwards. He emphasized foreign policy issues during his Presidential run. He has previously served as a U.S. Representative, Ambassador to the United Nations, and as the U.S. Secretary of Energy.[1] He was chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention as well as Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association in 2005 and 2006, overseeing the Democrats' re-capturing of a majority of the country's governorships. Richardson has been recognized for negotiating the release of hostages, American servicemen, and political prisoners in North Korea, Iraq, and Cuba.

the problem obama has is he is smart- and most americans are afraid of people smarter than themselves.
the man started in perhaps as deep a hole as you can- single white mom, half black, half white- not accepted by either culture- and on welfare if I recall correctly. and he went to and excelled at harvard law school- and on his application, did not indicate his race.

the fact is, he is smarter than 95+ percent of americans- that is why they can't identify with him.

and rather than earn money by taking the private sector route, he tried to help the poor in chicago.

ny grandfather isn't ready to vote for a black man, and my mother- who despite her claim to be a dissaffected hilary supporter, in realty isn't ready to vote for a black man either.
40+ years of civil rights- but there are still large segments of the us population who ultimately are prejudiced.

Richardson is highly qualified and who would be a very good choice. They may not feel he is from a large state and so pass on him. But he is Hispanic (I believe 3/4) and that will help all over the country.

It's pretty simple math. She actually had more votes than he did. If she started liked she finished--she wouldve won in a blowout. She brings the name recognition the votes her husband she's female etc.... People who think they are liabilities are crazy. The last period of prosperity in the US ran from the mid 90s to 2000 and people have memories. If you bring in a young senator no one knows--guess what he will lose and lose BADLY. He needs Hillary but I believe his staff has turned from a sharp strategic direction to an arrogant one way to quickly--what won him the Democratic nomination is already old news.

Hmmm...
Than Mccain is the best candidate - he is more moronic that 95% of Americans.
I have no doubt he will win.

i don't think he'll pick hillary, and i don't think it will affect him.

briggs by what count did hillary have more votes? if you count the two states that broke the rules of the DNC, one of which (MI) didn't even have barry O on the ticket?

I like Clark too and he would serve well as a Vice President. But I think Biden would be a good selection for Obama good attack dog, solid record in the Senate and has some sense when it comes to Foreign Policy.

Bonn,

What do you think about Obama' stance on the Death Penalty issue and the Gun Control law that was just struck down by the Supreme Court? Obama has become entirely too centerist in his stances and I understand that he is trying to get elected but this formula has proven to be an utter failure for Democrats. Even when Bill Clinton won he was Liberal leaning during his campaigns but unfortunately it all turned out to be empty promises as he to contributed to the raping of the middle class.

Exactly! She had people quiting her campaign left and right. They ran out of money etc. She mismanaged that campaign so much so until now she is getting help from Barack Obama. Aren't those the same dollars she spent smearing him? lol Funny. Some people are still pretty soar about her not being the nominee. But if she ran the country (budget and all) the way she ran her campaign.......

I think the biggest mistake Democrats have made all decade was to conclude "If we just abandon our principles and move to the middle, people will vote for us." Instead, they need to make a compelling case for their principles.

I like Biden and he wouldn't be a bad choice but I'm frustrated that he (and Hillary) reached the wrong judgment in 2002 on the biggest policy issue of my lifetime.

She started her campaign off arrogantly and took a poor strategic route like Obama is doing now. I've come to learn something in my time--that numbers are important. The bottom line whether you include Michigan or not you are talking about a standoff that could go either way in terms of the nearly 36mm votes. Why would Obama turn his back on the nearly 18mm Hillary voters including a large portion of females and battle ground states that he will have problems with? No other candiate is even REMOTELT close to Hillary--if they were they WOULDVE been in the race--it's not a close second. You put this team together and it's overwhelming--if not you may be pssing off MILLIONS of democratic voters who may not vote or vote for Mccain in spite. Not a good strategy--Hillary is popular and is she wasnt she would NOT have garanered all of her votes.
Obama is banking on his beginning strategy against Hillary but that ended and he barely held on--now the Republicans watched what she did and he[mcain] is already implementing the same thing. If Obama wants to win he will pick hillary if he doesnt he wont--and come back and see this post 6 months from now
