Is there a rule against trading a player to Europe?

I'd like to trade half of our roster there and I think most of them would go willingly. Especially when faced with riding the pine here for the next couple of years. (Jeff', Steph, ZBo)

That would be an amazing way to wipe salary off of the books.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

How could to trade a person to a different league. Let's think about this from a plausability standpoint.

Probably if a player wants to go to Europe and play, and the team has no problem with him leaving, I'll bet they could void the rest of the contract.

This happens all of the time in soccer, with "transfers" where teams sell players for huge fees to clubs around the world.

And it's part of their system, the trading inter-league.

Does the player get compensated though?

Can't wait to hear you say that once the season starts and he performs well in D'antoni's system
in a contract yr
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

that's pretty much what i'd say too... if he has a good season under D'Antoni in a contract year i'll hate him all the more, cuz that'll just reinforce the notion that he was being a turd all these years & not playing his best & there's no way i wanna see him getting a contract extension to remain a Knick... if he somehow is on the roster to begin the season (i still don't think there's any way he's gonna be here this year) & is able to increase his trade value a little is the only way i'm gonna feel better about Steph... i don't want this guy on this team anymore, he's gotta go.

Contract will be a big key in trading with Europe. Do they have the same restrictions as the NBA where trades has to be done money-for-money? Does the NBA even regulate this or is it just a matter team-trades-to-another-team kinda scenario and NBA team just makes sure they are under the CAP and the NBA team sign the player as a free agent. Where would the union stand? A lot of questions and I doubt this will happen in the near future.

i dont think you can do this. you cannot "trade" an NBA player to Europe. you can only cut him or not sign him when he's an un-RFA. u cut him and then u can have the european team cut him and if both players are amenable (long shot) they can join the other team, but as soon as u cut marbs.......he's running to LA.
