Lakers Sign Point Guard Sun Yue

The Lakers and point guard Sun Yue have agreed to terms on a two-year deal, according to The Los Angeles Daily News.

The team hopes to officially sign Yue within the next few days.

Yue is known as the Chinese version of Magic Johnson because of his playmaking abilities, and will face new teammate Kobe Bryant when China plays the United States on Sunday.

He better be nice. "Asian Magic Johnson" ? He needs to show and prove that. We'll see how he plays against some of the best point guards in the world.

Hideki Irabu was the 'Asian Roger Clemens' too before he got to the majors... i'd temper excitement over this guy 'til we see him play some games.

One of our buddies added a co worker of his to our rec league team this year. Before we met the guy we asked him how his buddy played. He said his buddy was great and that when they play at lunchtime at work everyone calls him "the black Steve Nash". We were all excited because we needed a PG badly so we accepted him with open arms. At halftime of our first game one of my teammates comes up to me and asked me why the guy wasn't playing like "the black Steve Nash". I said "because he sucks"

God I love nicknames.

Side note....I used to love playing ball against the kids with the tourney shirts on. People assume they were nice since they were in a tournament. How sweet it is to expose the fraud!
