You're dangling some red meat in front of the Isiah-haters, but there is no question that CP3 has got a long way to go before he reaches Zeke status.

Zeke was crushing during the remarkable era of the '80s. Lets not let his GM incompetence compromise his on-the-court, hall of fame accomplishments.

CP3 may one day be as good or better than Isiah, but he's gotta do it a lot longer IMO. I LOVE CP3 and I LOVED Isiah back in the day. I always felt he was a bit under appreciated in his time. He was a tough son of a gun and not always nice, but he had all kinds of guts. CP3 shows me similar traits and that's a good thing. My bet is that he'll go on to have a great career similar to Isiah. Whether he can win a title or two is hard to say tho.

Can't say it any better or more succinctly.

I'm not a big Isaiah hater, but I could take either side of this argument. I certainly don't think Paul has a long way to go to catch up to Zeke. He came in a very close 2nd in mvp voting last season and carried his team a long way. I don't think Isaiah ever came that close in mvp voting and championships aren't won by one player. Ask Lebron if you don't believe me.

Isiah Thomas is a Legend in his sport.

Isiah Thomas is right up there with like 5 dudes that people debate was the best:

Magic
Stockton
Isiah
Cousy
Nate archibald

Paul isn't in this class yet.

I am an Isiah GM hater, but as a player he was arguably the greatest little man in NBA history. Let's have Paul lead his team to a title before we make this comparison. I know in the US you are great even if you never make it to a Finals, but I'm still trying to hold on to that whole winning thing.

hmm that's a tough one... they both averaged 21 & 11 in their 3rd season in the pros & for their careers have the same shooting percentage, but Isiah was able to sustain that level of play for a good portion of his career... we'll see if Paul can do the same & stay healthy long enough to accomplish what Isiah was able to do... it's unfair to make these types of comparisons & pit a guy who's only played for 3 years at the NBA level up against a HOFer w/multiple titles under his belt.
