Since most of us hate almost every player on this team (with the exception of a few), if lets say we actually have a record above .500 mid-way through the season, will you guys be happy that we are winning? or will you not root as hard because of your hatred for most of the players

If Marbury does actually have his head on straight and leads us to a winning record this year, will you guys be happy?

this is such a hypothetical question because Marbury will likely be gone, and at best, this is a 40 win team- at best - stars aligned, no injuries, getting some lucky breaks, etc.

But, I would be thrilled, because it would be because D'Antoni got these guys to buy into a system that is likely going to be exciting.

For me it doesn't matter if they are above .500 or not. This team has never made a generally speaking a slow increase it a brighter future. In the past it always seem like they are a first round playoff defeat then in the crap shoot now. I don't see them making the right moves to a brighter future. As long as the front office is the way it is starting at dolan it willl never be good.

I hate only Marbs, Eddy, Zack, Jeffries, Q, and Jerom (the last 3 only because of their bbal abilities - as people they are OK).
6 players is not all team. If they will play little or be gone I will like this team regardless of win/lose.
Give me effort, dedication, care, and smart bbal and I will be exited about this team.

It's hard to like these guys. Really hard. But if they start winning I think anything can change.

Right now Zach, Eddy, Craw, Nate, Q, Marbs, JJ1, and JJ2 seem like the biggest losers in the NBA. But who knows how you'll feel about them if they win?

I can understand the strong dislike for some of the Knick players, but a lot of that comes from the losing. When you're winning you only focus on that and whatever quirks a player has, whatever faults you just accept it.

Steph is done, so there's no need to even worry about him anymore.

Eddy will do better when he's used properly. To me that means that he's not necessarily the focus of the offense, but instead he can feed off of the passing, driving and motion of the other players. The pace of practice and the games should help to get him in top shape. "IF" this guy is fit and trim we all know that he has a boat load of talent. Don't hate Curry just demand that he gets his butt in shape and does his job better.

Zach just needs to learn that he's on a TEAM and I think Mike is the guy that can get thru to him. He's actually a decent passer and just needs to realize that the ball will come back to him if he passes once in a while. He also needs to get in top shape, but he already is a beast of a hustler on the boards.

The other guys on the team i'm not so worried about. Mike just needs to get thru to the two big elephants in order for this to be a much better season than we've seen from the Knicks in years.

Hate is a strong word for how I feel about the players. I'm moving away from focusing on individual player personalities. I want to see the team, including management and players, be functional, show that they have a plan and can progress.

If these guys will go to war and show the warrior spirit, the fans will support them.

As a fan my *hope* is more pinned on the abilities of Chandler and Gallinari. I put the devlopment and *hopefully* success *above* W-L

The team with Marbury Randolph and whoever else--most of these guys will not be here so whatever W-L record is just mirage.

but what if they are here and we somehow miraculously are 5-8 games over .500 at the all-star break

I personally don't think that will be an issue because I have no faith in the new coach or new management. Unless you are tellling me that either Steve Nash or Reggie Miller are walking through the door, I don't see a winning record. Like Briggs said my view of the season will be based on Chandler and Gallinari.

if this team is 5 games over 500 at the all star break, they are going to give out the Coach of the Year award early to D'Antoni.

Ain't no way that can happen- that would be putting us on pace for a high 40's win total. Not Possible.

As long as dolan is running the show I think we going to be in the same boat like these other bad years.

I hope we win so that we can raise the value of some of these guys and then trade them........But I feel as if some of you guys are subconsciously getting your hopes up.
I just hope that people will like me

I'm one of the guys who is really looking at how Gallo and Chandler develop, whether Lee has improved his outside game, and whether players like Nate and Crawford can make a case for being on this team in 3-5 years down the road. Record is secondary for me.

Basically what your saying if Zach and Curry can co exist like Isiah planned and e win games? I would be ****ing ecstatic. All I want is what's best for the team. Who the hell wants to watch a team win under 25 games while trying to get under the payroll. We have to change the atmosphere.

Wow i'm surprised that you're so down on Waltoni. I think that it will clearly take time to get turn this team over and into a contender, but I do think they have the ability to do it. I think even in year one that Mike can be a positive influence. Very few coaches can overcome bad players, but here we actually have some talent.

Our problems have been poor coaching, a poor roster mix and a poor use of the players we have. In spite of what some think, I expect Duhon being here instead of Steph will have a positive effect on the team. Duhon, Jamal, Chan, Nate, Zach, Curry, Lee and Gallo is a decent talent pool for Mike to work with. Now if we can actually move either Zach or Curry then that could increase our chances of getting better faster.

that's pretty much all i care about seeing this year... i could care less about W's & L's as long as they play their hearts out & don't look like they're a disjointed team that has no idea what they're doing on the basketball court every night.
