What do you expect? The only thing we have done is to bring Duhon to be our starting PG (and he probably will be worse than Marbury). If both Curry & Randolph are here next month, you can bet they both will be starting again. I just hope Chandler/Gallinari become our starting SF, because watching Jeffries and Q starting again would be too much for me.

I agree with Darkknight, if the roster stays the same this may be what you see. You probably will even see Q over chandler at the 3. Ugh.

I don't believe that group can play ball like Coach wants - so I doubt we see it.

But if that is the line up, then clearly, D'Antoni must think the group can play the way he wants and I would give it some time to see if they can adjust and play smart basketball.

I think in year one DAntoni will be less concerned with getting a line-up that is a best fit for his style of play and more concerned with finding ways to increase the trade value of guys that he doesn't want. I think he may even adjust his style in order to increase numbers for certain players. Then he can trade them for guys that fit his system better

Things will change during the season, and eventually you should be looking at who gets the most minutes, not who starts, although at some point, we might see a complete change at some positions.

I agree in principle, though- there are some guys I just don't want to see playing. I don't want to see Marbury at all, and don't want to see Curry, Randolph, and even Q, who I like, if it means we don't see Gallo, Lee, and Chandler getting significant minutes.

Speculation: I doubt it will happen (So please don't start telling me it will never happen!)- but what if the lineup listed actually starts to win games and the team is about 23-19 at midseason, with Duhon, Gallinari, Nate, and Chandler playing 15-25 MPG ? How would people feel then?

In that case then fans should be happy, cuz that would mean that the very players they want gone will be easier to move. We can't be naive about this. We may be forced to play guys who don't fit Mike's system and cater to them just to get their numbers up. I think wins is more important than overall numbers and I think Mike knows this.

I don't know about Steph being there to start the season tho. I just don't see it happening. He's just too much of a symbol of the past. He can still play, but that's not the issue. Mike is gonna want a fresh start and the closest he can come to that is to let Steph go. IMO we don't need him to play well, so let him go. I think Jamal/Nate can easily provide the scoring and Duhon setting up the offense.

Mike just may be able to sell that to Zach. It's a stretch, but after the disaster of last year Zach may be more open to such an arrangement. I don't think he'd be in a hurry to repeat last year. There's a chance that this could happen. Mike has the guts to do something like that, whereas isiah was too scared to make a smart move like that from the start.

i don't think Marbury will be here when the season begins... he'll be bought out if a trade doesn't get done... i doubt they'll be able to dump Zach's contract tho, so i expect him in the starting lineup to at least begin the season... i hope Chandler will be starting games over Q, but who knows.

That will be followed by a crashing thud and silence as we tumble back to reality.

That 6 game winning streak was THE very last time I had any optimism regarding this team. They broke my heart after that, and ever since then, I've had no reason, at any point, to be excited about this team, and I still don't, until I see with my own two eyes that this team is truely turning the corner, and HAS turned the corner. Until then, everything is just talk to me, and wont be blinded by any streaks.

Duhon-Crawford

I really would like to see Marbury start the season at the off guard he is a better player than crawford, shoots a higher percentage and I think he will attack the rim more in his contract year. I don't see Duhon playing more than 20 minutes a night, I think you will see similiar minutes for nate, q, curry, and chandler, gallo will get around 15. If you can keep Zach at 30 and give lee around 35 it's a win, win.
