Wanted: New York Knicks beat writer
By J.E. Skeets Finding the job that is right for you can be stressful and exhausting, which is why it's important to determine what you like to do. Here are some questions you should ask yourself to determine what those wants and needs are: Do you like computers? Are you creative? Do you enjoy problem solving? What are your thoughts on Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry being able to coexist on the low block? If you had a strong opinion on that last question, boy, do I have the right job for you. Yep. Time to tidy up that resume and buy a blue suit with an orange pocket square, folks: the Knicks are advertising for a "Freelance NBA Writer/Editor." This individual will be the primary Knicks beat writer for NYKnicks.com, writing previews and recaps for all Knicks regular-season and playoff games. Must be able to attend all home games at Madison Square Garden and write 1-2 feature stories per week in addition to game coverage. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a superior knowledge of NBA basketball and prior experience covering the sport for a team site or professional media organization. Persons with a background in the public relations or marketing departments of a professional sports team are also encouraged to apply. Minimum job requirements include a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or English, strong writing and researching skills, and the ability to make a 50-point loss to the Celtics sound exciting. Best of luck.
