ESPN is reporting a deal sending Artest to houston is official. bobby jackson and rookie donte greene are the players going to SAC.

OMG y didn't we use Balk as a piece to get Artest?!?! (jk )

curious trade for HOU, i thought they were happy w/Battier? Artest is obviously an upgrade but he's got so many issues... i wonder what happens w/Battier now?

what's that got to do w/anything? i'm just asking what motivated them to do this trade if they were happy w/Battier at SF? maybe they're planning on trading him to get T-Mac & Yao some more reinforcements?

i might be tempted to trade Battier for a more traditional PF cuz HOU is a more classic, pick & roll style offense, aren't they? if u could get Kurt Thomas over there along w/another young asset for Battier that might be a deal i would do.

artest can play PF. he is one strong bastard. battier is the perfect glue guy, you don't trade him away.

Dude, are you serious? They just added possibly the best defensive player in the league, who is also a 20 ppg scorer and great passer, to a team that won 23(?) games ina a row last year, that has Yao Ming in his prime, and McGrady playing well.


Adelman is an excellent offensive coach and he gets his players' respect. Houston is not to be played around with.

skip + artest + tmac + scola + yao w/ battier off the bench. all they need to do now is to hire the best doctors and trainers and they'll be set.

Adelman coached Artest in Sactown remember? Maybe Adelman had a say?

Adelman is a great coach imho. He has an awesome group.....a well balanced group I might add. I'm scared of Houston.......

Good trade for the Rockets but does it really matter for them? TMac/Yao can never stay healthy anyway.

And oh yeah.. this is exactly the reason that Donnie is holding onto Zach. If Sacramento can get an expiring contract and a 1st round selection for Ron Artest (who is the epitome of malcontent and badboy) in the NBA, then I am damn sure that Zach can fetch the same package.

artest has 1 year left at about $8 mil. zach has 3 years at $48 mil.
