sheds $11.3 mil in 2010.
avoids having to re-sign david lee (which potentially can add even more to 2010).
makes the knicks better in the interim.

is brad miller even healthy?

Maybe if they send us one or two picks back of the first round variety.

David Lee is an asset. Eddy Curry used the right way is an asset, Isiah couldn't do that because he set the franchise back 10 years with the trade and for some reason felt the need to destroy the guys confidence and remove him from the offense by bringing in zach.

Bring Eddy off the bench and use him for 20 minutes a night i think there are some teams out there that could really use him, given that he can score efficiently and draw fouls. Give zach 32 minutes a night an let Lee play 40 and clean up the boards throw outlet passes and maximize our scorers in mike's offense.....

I think Eddy Curry as a finisher in this offense will do quite fine. I think if we keep him he can get his stats up high enough to opt out.

Best move is trading Zach and boosting Craw and Eddy's value

To be quite honest

Curry
Gallo
Chandler
Lebron/Wade
Defensive minded pg

with a bench of Nate and Lee sounds good to me if we can get everyone to opt out or even Gallo at the Center, eventually with lee at the power foward. Jefferies even with some added confidence can be a nice backup player in this system, I think we are going to be very surpised when guys come out in an offense tailored to their strengths, with defined roles.

moving zach is not easy. much easier to dump the other contracts. but zach is better than curry and better than lee.

btw, someone "in the know" says the bulls and kings are discussing a brad miller deal. essentially the offer is nocioni, cedric simmons and a future #1 for brad miller. kings are pushing for noah. the deal, if it gets done, won't happen until after ben + deng have been resolved. apparently, the source is legit.

I'm not sure if he's healthy but he's as high as a kite, from what I hear.

David Lee is out the door, honestly other then rebounding the guy does nothing for Mike D's offense. And I know he throws a mean outlet pass, only problem with that is most of the time I've seen the suns play Nash always came to the rebounder for the ball. Their break is even about making percesion half court passes, it's usually a dribble hand off or the guy who gets the board starts the break himself.

I know Lee is gone, but I don't if I want to trade him for salaries to come off the cap. I think we have to get a player for the future of this team, not just a vague draft pick.

other than the cap space, i fail to see any benefits in making the deal... avoiding having to pay D Lee an extension is not any kind of added benefit... if he's earned an extension he should get one... why would u wanna let a good young player get away for old veterans past their prime? i don't mind Brad Miller at all but not if ur giving D Lee away to get him.
