Report suggests Krstic heading to Russia It looks like Nenad Krstic’s days with the Nets may be numbered. In fact, it’s possible that his days in the NBA are too, at least for a while. According to a report in an Israeli paper - a report that I admittedly cannot read - Krstic is set to accept an agreement to play for a team in Russia. The report was translated by a web site that covers everything Nets and says that Krstic has already reached an agreement with the team. I started making calls last night to Krstic’s agent, to Nets president Rod Thorn and to GM Kiki Vandeweghe. I even tried Krstic’s cell phone and had to get permission from someone in my company to make the international call. After waiting on hold with my wireless carrier for about 10 minutes and getting permission from my paper, I dialed the whacky number and the call didn’t go through. Anyway, I have not heard back from Nets brass and an assistant to Krstic’s agent told me that nothing is in place but that, “They are definitely considering several options.” If Krstic does leave he would be the second Net to head to Russia in a week. Bostjan Nachbar signed there last week. It would also mean that just three players who were on the Nets’ roster when last season began are left: Vince Carter, Josh Boone and Sean Williams. That could still change, as the Nets are still mulling more changes. More on this later, if we can get more details. PURE KNICKS LOVE
