bobby brown will be there...
The Sacramento Kings have given guard Bobby Brown a guaranteed contract for two years, Marc Stein from ESPN.com is reporting.

The second year of Brown's new deal, sources said, is a player option.

Brown was chased by a number of teams in the last week, including the New Orleans Hornets, where Brown was impressive as the lead guard in the Las Vegas summer league. The Warriors were also believed to be interested.

Israel's Maccabi Tel-Aviv has been pursuing Brown aggressively this month, but sources said Brown was on the verge of accepting a multiyear deal "in the millions" from Spanish giant Barcelona this week when Sacramento increased its bid.

Brown outplayed three first-round picks -- Memphis' Mike Conley, Charlotte's D.J. Augustin and San Antonio's George Hill -- in head-to-head matchups in Las Vegas.

I'm so glad that we jumped the gun to sign Duhon but we played everything else "slow and steady"........

I'm not saying the Knicks have to get everybody, but damn man were we even informed? Did Donnie make a call? Were are scouts deployed? Does anybody in the MSG war room have nbatv?

I'm extreamly frustrated.

I still like the Duhon signing... of all the positions we need stability there first I think. Also its a small commitment to Duhon, and teams are always looking for help at PG. If Nate or Crawford proves to really thrive at the 1 under Mike and and Duhon becomes and after thought its my opinion he will be very easy to move. A young heady PG that plays D, knows how to win and takes care of the ball with a short contract? Cmon.. thats not an issue to me.

Can't get mad at the Kings, it was Bobby Browns prerogative to sign with them.

The thing that Duhon provides for the Knicks is that you know what your going to get. You know what he is going to bring and what he brings we definatly need. Low turn overs, will keep the offense organized. That will buy time while they look to strike gold at the PG spot.

I wish they were able to pull of that deal for Mario Chalmers at the draft though.

I think the difference is Duhon is a proven backup and capable starter if needed. Can you sat the same about BB? If yes, are you using summer league performance and competition to justify this?

on a side note:
The Sacramento Kings have given fat bastard Gerald Levert an invite to training camp, Marc Stein from ESPN.com is reporting.

I don't have a problem with the Duhon signing by itself......I'm just annoyed with the whole off season so far. Why was Duhon jumped on so quickly yet nothing else is? Oh then there's roberson.

Bobby Brown had an awesome sumer league facing some top notch up and coming nba talent.

I dunno man......I'm just annoyed

Bobby Brown says Don't Be Cruel. How does a team invite a dead man to training camp?

The Knicks' weakest position is and was PG. And they also have a brewing Marbury controversy, and by signing Duhon, Donnie just got an uppper-hand position with dealing with that loony. If he wants to tell Steph to shove it, he can.

He's the boss......he can dump Marbs anytime he wants.

Bobby brown is a diomond in the rough. I'm anxious to see how he plays when its peanut butter and jelly time.

Duhon was not signed to be the PG of the future. I don't think that Dantoni felt that that guy was out there, or that we would have to give up too much to get him.
