i was watching the year 1988 hip hop special on mtv2 yesterday and i couldn't help but sit and think to myself how crappy the majority of the music has become.
i can remember when i could sit and watch mtv raps and not ever change the tv. now i honestly can't even sit and listen to the radio now. because i can't stand to listen to 90% of it anymore

even if the music sells millions. the art, itself has fallen off. the creativity and originality as a whole has taken a nose dive
maybe that's it more than anything. the art. what we are seeing now is something that we have already seen before
not to mention the death of 2pac. the vultures circled for years. eating away at a legend's soul

nothing but clones and more clones. if they are going to clone. clone public enemy. rakim. bdp. nwa. salt-n-pepa. heavy d. hell even hammer but give us something. what happened???

any thoughts?

all those years as a fan and now i'm the anti-knick. life is crazy aint it.

I catch myself listening to my older CD a lot more now a days....Kool G Rap, EPMD, Eric B & Rakim are slowly replacing all the new shtt.

I recently bought a tape deck for the crib and seriously thinking about getting one for the whip....

yeah ice. they don't make songs like those anymore at all. you remember how back then you could actually feel the flavor of the music. now it seems you have actually got to see the video to feel the flavor.

swish the only tape cassette i have is ice cube's first cd. it's so old i can't even see the words on it anymore.

bobby who is your favorite hip hop artist

i don't know i read it too. aint no telling. yeah ice cube was the man. the 1st cd and the kill at will ep are bonafide classics.
ice cube is a prime example of how one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover because looking back at him in n.w.a. and seeing him now, who would have dreamed that this man had so much talent.
couldn't get pass the jheri curls back in the days to see the talent for what it really was.lol
but i do remember he was the first one to break camp after the straight outta compton royalties came in. cube said he wrote 75% of the album and it sold millions and all he got was a check for 75,000.
ouch
