If they let Marcus Williams go[they have 17 players signed] we should pick him up and dont sign Roberson. Williams can play a true nice PG--hes been hurt pretty much 3/4 of his two years in NJ. He can hit the three ball which seems like a Dantoni prerequisite. remember the Toronto GM Bryan Colangelo--who was responsible for starting that whole gig tried to trade up in round 1 two years ago to get Williams. If Colangelo thinks he fits this style--we should. The bad part is I see Brendan Suhr still seems to have his fat arse mouth in the picture and his speed dial is IT.

Nets are a world class run organization. I'm in awe of all their roster moves.

Knicks need Marcus Williams like a mofo.

Stop it! The Knicks don't need "superstar" Marcus Williams, who can't even hold down the backup PG slot when it was given to him. Who can't beat out Eddie House or Darrell Armstrong. As a matter of fact, Frank will generally play 2 shooting guards rather than play Williams.

We do not need Williams, another bad shot shooting, no defense playing, human turnover-Crawford type except not as good as Collins!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

What a dumb signing. Do they Nets have a PG on their team? They all seem like combo-guards to me.

if a man like Rod Thorn is willing to jettison his former 1st round pick for a journeyman like Keeyon Dooling, it's gotta tell u something... Bilas' best "pure PG of the '06 NBA draft" has never come close to living up to the hype.

This to me is one "why?" signing.

Dooling is a guy the Celtics would do good signing. Not a Nets team in total disarray with no near-term chance to be any good anymore.

Dooling is that bench addition, like a Posey, when you're good and want more depth.

Not a good signing for a team that's going to be pretty crappy no matter which way you slice it --- AND --- Dooling isn't a building block, a culture changer, he's a role player - and a specific role player - he's gotta be a role player on a very good team that's already competing WITHOUT him.

Clueless signing IMO.

To be fair--when he has been healthy--he's been good. The problem was a broken foot anf a cracked wrist he played through. If he's in the right situation he's an excellent distributor and a very good 3 point shooter. Like Isaid Bryan Colangelo really was the guy who started this whole thing of faster play and he was very high on Marcus. If we compare prospects Roberson is two years older 3 inches and 20 pounds skinnier plus Marcus plays a true PG which we really do not have much of although we have 9 guards/

It's a good reason why the nets signed dooling.

Check out the piss test for williams, when teams give up on you this soon in your career especially after dropping so far in the draft something could be wrong.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

i'll agree i'd rather take a shot at signing Marcus Williams than signing Roberson & allow him & Duhon to compete for the starting role w/Nate backing up Jamal at SG, but to be honest i don't think either one is going to have much of an effect on this team either way... still at minimal dollars i suppose it's worth a shot, at least he brings some ability to play the point as well as shooting whereas Roberson is more of a pure shooter, & we have enough of those.

in that case i'd try & trade Q Rich for a shotblocking C like Etan Thomas to open up more minutes for Chandler & for Mardy to find a little playing time next season.

The Knicks signing Roberson will open up a great opportunity for Marcus Williams to show all his abilities -- for Macabi tel Aviv!

Man, oh man. The UK 06 debate finally over? Somewhere at MSG or in parts unknown in Italy Isiah is smiling

Look at that Nets roster......they have some awesome assets on their team.

Marcus Williams will be fine. As soon as they start using laptops instead of basketballs.
