07-08:

PG: Marbury, Nate, Mardy
SG: Jamal, FJones
SF: QBrick, Balk, Chandler, JJ-Skinny
PF: Lee, ZBo
C: Curry, Snacks, Morris

That's 14, am I missing one guy? Regardless, what a depressing collection of crap, huh?

07-08 - assumption that Marbury & Snacks will be bought out, I would cut Collins as well (unless there's a market for him), this also assumes no trades (which none of us can predict accurately):

PG: Duhon, Roberson
SG: Jamal, Nate, Holland (maybe?)
SF: QBrick, Balk, Chandler, JJ-Skinny
PF: Lee, ZBo, Gallinari
C: Curry, Miller (maybe?)

Certainly Holland & Miller are wild cards. I'd like to see both make the team based on what I've seen so far. Holland seems like a polished scorer with a nice outside shot & great handle.

Miller seems like a perfect 15th man. A selfless, hard workng big man in the mold of Michael Doleac (in terms of shooting, defensive rebounding).

Clearly both would need outstanding training camps.

I am not a Mardy Collins fan. I simply don't think he has NBA talent, despite the fact that he "gets it" above the shoulders.

That leaves 1 spot. I'd use it on a shot blocker like Briggs guy from Sacramento.

AVG Playing time, I'd hope it goes something like this:

PG: Duhon - 32 minutes, Nate 16 minutes (despite the assertion that Dantoni will move Nate away from PG, Roberson - not in the rotation
SG: Jamal - 36, Nate - 12, Holland - not in the rotation
SF: Chandler - 28, Gallinari - 15, Balk - 5, JJ-Skinny - not in the rotation, QBrick - not in the rotation (sorry, I just don't think he's got anything left & I think this has been the case for 2-3 years)
PF: ZBo - 20, Lee - 18, Gallinari - 10
C: Curry - 28, Lee - 20, Miller - not in the rotation

So, many of these guys will play multiple positions. That's typical for Dantoni's system. Total minutes per:

Duhon: 32
Nate: 28
Jamal: 36
Chandler: 28
Gallinari: 25
Balkman: 5
ZBo: 20 (and dude, if you pout, you get less....we're tired of the inmates running the asylum....on the upside, you can possibly steal minutes at C)
Lee: 38
Curry: 28

Total player minutes per game: 5 * 48 = 240
That's essentially an 8 man rotation, which is consistent w/ Dantoni's history.

My guess at stats projections:

Duhon: 8 pts, 8 assists, 2 TOs
Nate: 12 pts
Jamal: 22 pts
Chandler: 13 pts, 5 reb, 1.5 blocks
Gallinari: 12 pts, 5 reb, 5 assists
Balkman: 2 pts, 2 reb, 1 block
ZBo: 11 pts, 7 reb
Lee: 13 pts, 11 reb
Curry: 10 pts, 4 reb, minus 1 block

That's 103 ppg.

I had a typo >> 08-09 (not 07-08) - assumption that Marbury & Snacks will be bought out, I would cut Collins as well (unless there's a market for him), this also assumes no trades (which none of us can predict accurately):

No Zach has to play more minutes so he becomes more marketable. Zach will play more minutes than Curry

Hey, that's fine. As I said, he can steal minutes at C in addition to his 20 at PF. But Lee & Gallo need to play and all things considered (athletic ability, team play, fit vs. Dantoni's system) they'll be better than Zach at PF.

If we start with our current roster Curry will be out of shape and come off the bench. Either Lee, JJSkinny or Chandler will start at the 4 with Zach at the 5.

of the 96 minutes at PF/C I think it will be more like this:
Zach 35
Lee 32
Curry 18
with the remaining 10 minutes or so being played by guys like Gallo, Chandler or JJ in smaller/bench lineups.

Let Curry come off the bench where he can abuse bench players for 2 stretches a night

Roberson is terrible, i don't even know why they would sign a guy that couldn't make an nba team for the last two years, is small, and has one skill. Just doesn't make sense. I don't like Jamal getting over 30 minutes he has had his chance to play ball and hasn't improved much in his career.

I would definitely not sacrifice Gallo's minutes for ZBo. Fck him, fck Marbury, James etc. We need to change the culture around here. Show the fans, show the players that guys who don't care about getting into shape, that don't care about the team, that don't care about winning are not valued by the organization.

marbury and james wont be here. Gallo isnt ready for a big role. He's going to start off the bench as a scorer IMO at the 2/3/4 but time will tell on that one. The big culture killer is Marbury, Isiah and their phucked up relationship. ZBo isnt a nice guy but he's not the coach/GM/Presidents neighbor/lover/S&M partner. All that was toxic

It would be upsetting to see Galinari and Chandler get less than 25 minutes each. I would believe that their development is worth more than wins this year. We have to many players who need to many minutes in the frontcourt. Lee Randolph Curry Gallinari Jefferies can play 4--Lee is going to be shafted. And no matter what we are a FIRM lottery team as is.

Briggs....why even mention Jefferies in that group. As fas as I'm concerned, he's like Malik Rose (meaning not even a consideration for PT). Matter of fact I'd trade him for Tinsley, which I think Indi would do as well.
