Gallinari shut down

Top pick Danilo Gallinari will be shut down for the rest of NBA Summer League. A sore lower back is the cause. The Knicks don't want to push it. He has to play for Italy next month in the Olympics.

From a spokesman:

Danilo has a sore lower back and will not dress today. He is listed as doubtful for the rest of the week. He had a precautionary MRI -- there were no significant findings. He will rest and have treatments the remainder of the week here in Las Vegas before heading to Italy.

I guess you've never read his posts before, but whenever he has a little suggestion out of the blue he's trying to tell us what's gonna happen. He did this dozens of times last year regarding lineup changes etc.

we can't catch a break this summer. what the hell? i was looking forward to watching danilo, probably the best basketball from the knicks ALL YEAR, and then he is shut down? sorry but this summer of the knicks is striking out for me. first this zach debacle and now this. i really hope it gets better because for some reason chris duhon is not making jump for joy about our summer.

As I had pointed out to me last night, Nilo is still going to play in the Olympics. Just have to wait until August.

Italy didn't make the Olympics in basketball. He's playing with the National team to get ready for the `12 games.
