The subject says it all. What is Ward worth as tradebait? Would any team be interested in him?

He's a solid defender, he's tough, he can shoot the 3... and he's pass-first. Oh, he's also a pretty good rebounder for his size.

Some ideas:
I think Ward would be an excellent addition to the Nets. AJ signed with another team, right? Aaron Williams would be a nicely sized, tough addition, but I don't think Ward is enough.

Other teams? Seattle, potentially--- but they have some players they'd probably want to try out at PG before resorting to a veteran (I think they signed Anthony Johnson...).

Detroit was once hot for Ward--- they're still a little thin behind Billups... but what could they offer us (the aging Cliff Robinson?!)?

Indiana is also looking for someone to complement Tinsley... but there's that whole NY/Indy rivalry.

Of course, look at his contract.. Knicks got til Jan 1st to buyout his contract for 2mil so if ward gets traded before the deadline, a team looking to cutdown payroll to avoid the luxury tax might take him. He is a good defender and plays with passion. There are teams out there looking for those incredients. Laydown would just have to find the right trade which would include ward and another knick player. I'm sure you saw my previous thread where i suggested the knicks pick up Dale davis where Ward and Othello H. be included in the package.

Indiana signed Anthony Johnson to back-up & mentor Tinsley.

Detroit has Chucky Atkins, who used to start for them before Billups was signed as a free agent, as the back-up PG.

Seattle might be a good trading partner since they have so many centers under contract.

They are grooming their 6'6 point guard from Europe ... Plainic (or something like that)... he has skills. I agree though, Ward has some value. I'd settle for a first round pick and depth player.
