Team president Larry Bird said he isn't finished remaking the roster, however.
Bird said he hopes to trade for or sign a power forward and is confident he can trade point guard Jamaal Tinsley.
"As we made deals, we knew we were probably going to have an area that we needed to still address, and right now it's a power forward that can score down low," Bird said after Roy Hibbert and Brandon Rush -- two of the seven players the team acquired through trade -- were introduced.
Now, for the ultimate you take my crap, I take your sh!t trade:
New York Knicks
Incoming Players Travis Diener Salary: $1,620,000 Years Remaining: 1 Jamaal Tinsley Salary: $6,750,000 Years Remaining: 3 Troy Murphy Salary: $10,126,984 Years Remaining: 3
Outgoing Players: Zach Randolph, Jared Jeffries, Mardy CollinsIndiana Pacers
Incoming Players Zach Randolph Salary: $14,666,667 Years Remaining: 3 Jared Jeffries Salary: $6,049,400 Years Remaining: 3 Mardy Collins Salary: $1,034,760 Years Remaining: 1
Outgoing Players: Travis Diener, Jamaal Tinsley, Troy Murphy
Why for Knicks: the Knicks dump malcontent ZBo, Jefferies who has no place here & Collins who may not be long for the league. They get Tinsley, who comes home. Yes, he's a jerk, but he can possibly be revived under Dantoni. Excellent assist man. Troy Murphy has more range than ZBo & I can see him hitting 3's in transition, plus playing some C whereas ZBo can't do that. We'd cut Diener.
C: Curry/Murphy PF: Lee/Gallinari/Murphy/Malik Rose SF: Chandler/Q/Balk SG: Crawford/Nate & possibly Delonte Holland PG: Duhon/Tinsley/Roberson
There's no impact on the cap. But the smaller deals of Tinsley & Murphy (relative to Zach) might be less of a challenge to unload down the road.
