Going into the 11th.
Dan Ugly puts the winning run on 3rd with 2 straight errors and nobody out, but the NL escapes.

Hell of a game.

Kinsler is caught stealing (at least that's the call) with nobody out.
Navarro is thrown at home for what would be the winning run.

Game's going into the 12th.

Wow! Morneau JUST beats out the tag at home. AL wins in 15 innings!
With as many exciting plays as there were this game...I was dead bored after the 11th.

JD Drew wins MVP.
Can't think of anyone else it should go to, although I do love the boos in the background as he's announced.

Highlight of my night was with Papelbon on the mound. Loved the chants of "OVER-RATED" and "MARIANO".

A-Rod is a loser. I think he's the only dude that bounced when he was taken out of the game. He probably went to go screw Madonna.

I just don't think he ever really had it in him to be a Yankee, let alone a clutch hitting baseball player. Big stats and nothing else. He still' hasn't proven a thing and it's been four years now.

Horrible trade. Knew it from day one. Too plastic, inauthentic, and corporate. Wants nothing to do with big time baseball and big moments. All about contracts, perks, endorsements, and meaningless stats.

He's such an L.A Dodger.

Drew for starters.

But you know something? This goes back to my original idea. We need to develop our farms and grow our own superstars. People we know who will take pride in what being a Yankee is all about. We brought Jeets up, Mo up, Bernie up, Pettitte up and others, and those guys helped us win four world series.

And then George reverted back to the 1980's again, going after expensive stars in the league who are just here for the contract. Steroid cheating Sheffield, Steroid cheating Giami, Matsui, A-Rod, etc. etc. who have some pretty hefty contracts and not worth a dime of it. And as much as I respect Johnny Damon for saying what he said about the Yankees (A-Rod) sucking, he too hasn't earned his pay.

In 77, 78 we had our own products again in guys like Guidry & Munson. in the 50's, 40's, 30's, 20's again, we always won with our own products. We had Donnie in the 80's, but that was just an awful team and Winfield (like A-Rod) did not live up to the challenge.

A-Rods also is a prima-dona and is obviously slamming other women. I hope his wife goes to town on his ass.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Drew who? JD Drew??? u mean the guy playing RF for BOS right now making $70 mil? he can't hold a lit match to ARod's jock, come on.

i got no problems at all building up our youth from the farm system, but right now we have zero top prospects at 3B... closest we have is Eric Duncan & he's already been converted to play 1B & is struggling pretty mightily in AAA... frankly i have my doubts whether he'll ever make much of himself on the ML level at this point.

face it, we have no other better options to play 3B for us right now... there are about 28 other teams out there that would kill to have ARod playing 3B for them... we shouldn't be complaining about having the best player in the game on ours... there are plenty of other areas we need to address before we even start to worry about how ARod hasn't come through for us in the clutch in the postseason, much less get into what he wants to do w/his life off the field... the guy puts up phenomenal #'s every year & plays hard on every play... what more do u want? even Reggie Jackson had his bad moments in the postseason... all ARod needs is 1 big bomb to win a big game & the monkey will be off his back... i'll take my chances w/him up at the plate over any scrubs we can call up from our farm system right now.

A-Rod's only good for show and gossip. But your probably right. Take our chances with him. But remember, when that crucial time comes (and it's already come many times for him) if he doesn't produce, then you won't blame me or anyone if we go off on his ass, right?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Question, who were the Yankees third baseman during the 96-01 years? Dont think Charlie Hayes and Scott Brosius are going to be on the Cooperstown podium anytime soon.

I'd rather take that 25-30 mil, or whatever obscene paycheck he's currently receiving, and spread it around the field. I'm sure we could find a more than adequate hot corner guy --- one that isnt completely greedy, insincere, and has a penchant for shrinking when it matters most

A-Rod has completely infected the Yankee clubhouse, and its a virus the is seemingly here to stay. Again, at least we had those late-'90s years. He cant take that away, but I'm sure he'd try!

i always hear that same argument being recycled over & over as if Scott Brosius & Charlie Hayes were the reasons why the Yankees won all those WS's during those years... come on dude, let's be real here... they won because they had an awesome bullpen & had great starting pitching... Joe Torre always operated on the theme that you win w/pitching in the postseason & he was absolutely right... what does this argument have to do w/ARod? he gets along well w/the guys in the lockerroom from what i can tell... i dunno where all these stuff about his teammates hating him comes in... spreading his dollars around the diamond argument doesn't hold water either because the Yankees won w/a much lower payroll than they have now during those years, just about half... the market hasn't appreciated that much, the Yankees simply have had to extend their homegrown guys to big contract extensions & brought in huge money players like ARod, Giambi, Moose & Damon... in the years they won all those championships the Yanks were spending money too but the difference was they had low priced home grown players that were contributing on the big league level to balance out the payroll a bit, whereas we don't have that now... like i said before, we have jack squat in our farm system right now to replace ARod, & if ur gonna trade the guy you had better get back a stack of high quality talent or else you're committing suicide to satisfy a minority of fans who want to blame ARod for all of this team's ills, which i think is totally unfair... this team has plenty of holes to address before they have to worry about who's a better option to play 3B for them at this point.

We not only had an awesome bullpen and starting pitching, but every player contributed. Remember Chad's two homer W.S. game, that won it for us? Things like that. Everyone did something to win a game for us. It wasn't some guy carrying us on his back. And we didn't have a power hose team during the run either. Bernie was it. I think he didn't go more then what' 30, 31 homers on the years and then Tino had that 40 plus on year. It was all clutch hitting and perfect timing. Everyone played like a real team.

We definately gotta get back to the basics again.
I'll never trust this' team again.

49, i absolutely agree, which is why i find it so puzzling that some Yankee fans lay all this blame on ARod for not being able to carry the entire load on his shoulders when it's been proven that the teams of the past won when everyone made their own contributions, & then bring up names like Charlie Hayes & Scott Brosius as if those guys were ever able to carry the load in any capacity... yeah, Brosh got clutch hits for us in the playoffs which sets him apart from ARod, but w/o ARod the team most likely doesn't even make the playoffs the past few years to begin with... last time i checked guys like Jeter, Jorge, Matsui & Giambi have not pulled their share in the postseason either the past few years, which is a huge part of why the team hasn't been able to make it past the 1st round in successive seasons... also the fact that our starting pitching has let us down as well & we've had some imlosions late in games from the bullpen... i'm not absolving ARod of all blame, he played a big role in it too, but i gotta laugh at fans who wanna single him out as if everyone else has been doing their jobs otherwise since he got here during the playoffs.
