Randolph was easy to spot as a potential NBA superstar--to pass him for Gallinari will be a joke of the next 10 years just because AR isnt the best 3 point shooter--he just better at everything else with elite athletic ability INCLUDING ballhandling.

I'm concerned about you and the way you think sometimes. Unlike some around here, you're not an act.

I'm concerned to--about the people who run the Knicks. It's impossible for some message board poster to consistently pick out star players over years while the idiot highly piad knick hiearchy keep bringing in the Jerome James the Chris Duhons and the channing Frye's of the world. Sorry its just fact.

Be that as it may, and you've been right and you've been wrong ---fact, you still cant get this pumped up over one summer league game. These things have been proven to be glorified pick up games that haven't really indicated success or failure. Perhaps failure, if you want to stretch things, but certainly not success.

And you know better. Plus, Walsh and Co. werent around for the James' and Frye's of the world. I know we dont have jack to talk about, but c'mon duke, chill.

You're right--these are glorified pick up games albeit with major talent. I studied Randolph very hard before the draft and I believe very strongly that he has *it* he has the type of talent that seperates players in talent level--he's a special player. Some of these games are just the first signs of what guys will bring. He's a serious baller and it was kind of funny how people fixated on 197--that has never meant sht and this kid is going to be a serious nba baller. There will be mutliple players better than Gallinari after pick 6--it's just that Randolph had the superstar type potential that we desperately havent had.

It was funny on one post that I read that someome mentioned that Brook Lopez would sck and was a safe pick because he was a 7 footer. I can tell that the person never watched the player intently but makes blind judgements without a base of merit. Ah it's just a message board--just opinion.

By the way you know and I know as does everyone else that if Gallinari went 30-8-2-2 he would be on the back page of all the sports newspapers the next day.

From what I can see, there were 13 teams who could have picked up Randolph, including the team that took Brook Lopez. I actually wanted to have Rose on the Knicks, and would have been satisfied with Westbrook or Mayo, but Gallinari was a good pick for what the Knicks seem to want to do offensively. Randolph does have a lot of skill and a big upside, though. The only thing he does not seem to bring to the table, however, is distance on his jumper, and as we all know, that is a must for DAntoni (0/3 in the summer game). If the Knicks actually had taken him I would not have gone crazy, though. He has a lot of skill as a ball handler and short/mid range scorer, and can block shots, although he really does need to gain some pounds. Maybe he can become a Bosh or a Camby with an offensive game, but who knows. Does anyone even know how he scored his points?

With the age and relative experience of the players now being drafted, you can't really get too excited until after a few years have passed. I'll be happy if Gallinari scores 30 on Monday and hits a ton of 3's, but I am not about to pencil anyone in as a star based on the Summer League.

if there were posters on this board making a big deal of that statline wouldn't u be tempered in your excitement over it? why then does a statline like this from AR make you get so pumped is what's so puzzling.
